The Shy Lotus, much like its name, was a quiet and unassuming inn, offering modest accommodations for weary travelers and locals who wanted a place to recuperate in. Nothing about the flaky walls and creaking floorboards suggested that this inn could be hiding a secret. But Xander and Leena both knew their Chronicas never lied.
Holding his pocket watch at eye level, Xander slowly walked across the hallway, the floorboards groaning under the weight of his boots. His eyes scanned every nook and cranny as he made his way past the reception counter.
The nervous innkeeper couldn't understand what was happening and called out to him. "Why would there be a portal here? You're clearly mistaken, young sir. Our city is under the protection of Master Ramone. There have been no sightings of otherworldly creatures within our walls. You and your friends don't need to worry. There's nothing here."
