Backstories (Part 1)

"Curses! Why does my luck always have to be this bad?!" Lucas said as he felt like pulling out his hair.

Avarlyn joined in on Lucas's frustration as he looked at the two gods' smug expression. Their face boldly announced 'Sorry dudes, but party's over' as they looked straight at Lucas and Avarlyn.

'Well it's not like if I die here, I die for real right? Maybe all this is just a fragment of my imagination.' Lucas thought as he began to calm down slowly.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you die here, you die for real. Also, this isn't a fragment of your imagination." The female demon behind Arion said almost instantly.

A cold shiver slithered down Lucas's spine as the young lad held on to Darksteel tightly for dear life. His eyes narrowed as he focused them on the three headed monstrosity surrounded by an army of king tier beasts.

'I hope the rewards for taking such a mission is great!' Lucas thought as he charged into battle with his eyes furiously bursting out in a bright purple glow.

Ultimatum!

Strangely, all the monsters around Arion began to claw, bite and inflicted deadly injuries upon themselves. Their eyes which were now lit up in a purple light was hollowed out as they then proceeded to attack the others.

Lucas discovered that since his body was in the human realm, his lifeforce would be extremely low. Unbeknownst to him, that if that was the case, he could be taken down in one decisive blow.

Avarlyn instantly turned into a blur as a series of wide gashes shockingly appeared on Arion's body. Blood splattered everywhere as the Hydra tried to bite on Avarlyn with all three mouths.

God Of Absolute Destruction — Avarlyn!

Avarlyn instantly transformed into a red bolt of lightning as the metallic smell of blood filled the air. Arion roared in agony as one of his heads' eye was stabbed by a familiar sword.

Darksteel~!!!

Lucas used all his strength to drag his sword further down before instantly slashing upward. The strike divided the head in halves, but Lucas immediately felt an immense sense of impending danger.

WHACK~~~~~!!!

Lucas was flung back dozens of metres as blood streamed down his lip. His lips were busted while his right eye had sunk into his face in a horrific way.

'...Sorry...'

Lucas crashed down to the ground as u is eyes dimmed before darkness shrouds his vision. He struggled for a few seconds before his mind went completely blank.

----

Ten years ago...

A young boy with curly black hair was in a dungeon following a couple of men around. He looked no more than twelve years of age and his equipment were rather poor. His weapon was a wooden dagger that was only good for annoying monsters to death.

"Hey kid, watch where you're going!" A tall bulky man said as he slapped Lucas on the head. His face was dead serious as he looked at the cave entrance before him.

Lucas was visibly shaking from fear, making him unable to walk steadily. His heart was thumping out of his chest as his eyes darts around the entrance anxiously.

Suddenly a hand stuck out from behind and pushed Lucas in the cave. It was so quick that Lucas barely had time to react before he was sent stumbling into the strange cave.

His defences broke as he suddenly screamed for help at top of his lungs while tears had started to flow freely down his cheeks. He looked back to the entrance which was sealed shut behind him, and then to the creepy path before him.

'Why? Why did they do that to me? I didn't do anything wrong!' Lucas said as he collapsed to his knees, instantly dropping his disgrace of a weapon down to the ground as he lowered his head.

You were born to dominate...

"Father, where are you?! Why did you leave me!" Lucas screamed suddenly as he felt like pulling out his hair.

Everything changed the day his father took off to become the villian and he was left to fend for the family. He had to school his sister and take care of the family with the mediocre income he earned from killing some low tier beasts.

Things became more difficult when his mother suddenly fell ill out of the blue. He was faced with shocking bills that made him take on more deadly quests.

The higher the risk - The higher the reward, right?

Lucas felt betrayed as he eyes had turned dead. His eyes hurt from all the hours of continuous crying over nothing. None of that could help him!

He would either have to become stronger or live like this for the rest of his life!

Lucas struggled to his feet as he picked up his makeshift sword and advanced further into the cave with his eyes now burning in a newfound confidence.

Live or die...

----

A short blue haired girl with green eyes sat in a huge emptied out room. Her eyes were pointed while her canines were replaced with fangs.

Blue flames burned around her as she looked up to the ceiling with a lost gaze. Her face was extremely pale while her eyes were puffy and red.

Her name was Lily and once again, she had failed to ascend into a divinity. The evolution process that had failed two times in a row took a toll on her little mind.

She distanced herself from the society of half-blooded dragons who ruled the celestial bridged between the land of the darkness from that of the light called Calvera.

"Royalty, pft. All are just a cover up to secretly control the powers they deem dangerous to all life. They no longer understand the importance of family anymore, they just want control." Lily said as she twirled her hand around while a small wisp of the feared consuming azure flames danced about on her fingers.

An adult sized version of Lily sat far behind in the shadows with a smile on his face, as it's scarlet eyes wandered up to Lily. Chaos avatar rarely smiled and this was one of the rare moments where she revealed her calm side.

"That's not true." Chaos avatar said as she closed her eyes with a broad smile on her face.

"Sister, I agree with big sister chaos dragon too. What you're thinking isn't true." Kage, the twin brother of Lily said as he walked up to Lily with a smile.

"How do I evolve into a divinity like my favourite brother?" Lily said with a smile as she looked up to Kage with a smile.

"First things first. You have to become stronger." Kage said as he sat down next to Lily with a calming expression on his face.

"How do I do that?" Lily said with her voice on the verge of breaking.

"Consider going to earth for some time. It's a good place to train." Chaos avatar advised as she opened her eyes and looked straight at Lily with a smile on her face.

"Yeah, I'll think about it."
