when she closed her eyes, he watched her and smiled, he wanted to do something but he didn't know what, he became frustrated when he stared at her lips again.

he couldn't believe what came into his mind so he flicked her on the forehead to keep both of them sane.

but he didn't know she will be saddened, he tried to console her and then she asked her what he wanted to say and when he said it, he thought he saw her smile but then maybe it was just his illusion.

he repeated it again when she asked but then she asked why and he murmured

"do I even know"

Joan could hardly hear that so she asked again and he had to make something up at least to buy himself time. time? to do what,

he didn't know but he needed her to give him time

"uhm yes your parents, you will have to tell your parents"

" why" she asked confused, not the kind of response she wanted to hear

"Joan, you know i am a good friend and I always want the best for you right" he said and she nodded her head.

"then listen ok, we will be going home soon, so when we get there let's talk about it with your parents, you know they entrusted you to me and I want you to get their permission first. I know it sounds silly but please understand me ok, I think that's a good reason enough" he said hoping she will agree to this silly idea of his, but he needs time to do what he plans to do

"why should I inform my parents" Joan said

"you know they are your parents and they need to know about this, remember high school when I told them you had suitors, their reaction was not good so let's talk to them about it ok" he added

"but....." Joan wanted to protest but he said

"please Joan understand me for now, give me time please"

this time Joan heard it clearly

"time to do what" Joan asked

"you will know at the right time but for now don't start dating until we tell your parents ok" he pleaded

Joan didn't want to push him further so she agreed
