Misfortunes

Cyl and his group were moving fast through the forest, he only brought 4 guards along with him on this trip, three were with him, and Moria the last one was guarding their mounts, the carriage, and especially Luckas.

The group soon reached the location where the bodies were sighted, as they got closer a pungent smell was felt, Cyl's face turned dark as he analyzed the surrounding area.

The area was completely in chaos, destroyed trees were filled their sight, big claw marks were engraved in almost every tree. As they moved deeper in the forest countless mangled bodies appeared.

-" Split up and look for clues, We need to identify the caravan, if you get your hand on any identification paper bring it to me."

Cyl was serious, he was certain that what attacked the merchant convoy wasn't bandits but a demonic beast, it was really difficult for anyone to find demonic beast in this area, as the Duke army constantly cleared it for the safety of the travellers.

As Cyl searched the remains of the convoy he heard a scream not too far away from him, he instantly dashed in the direction.

-" Fuck, Matthew is hurt, the beast is still here." One of his soldiers screamed while he fought with two wolves.

Cyl arrived on the battlefield in an instant and slashed towards one of the wolds who was attacking the injured soldier, as he slashed towards the wolf he grabbed the injured companion by the collar and jumped back to gain distance.

Just as he saved the man, the rest of his guard reached the area where the confrontation happened.

-" Gather in formation, put Matthew in the back so he can tend to his wounds." Cyl quickly ordered his underlings while using his aura to make the beast run.

The wolfs were only at the Demonic Body realm, the lowest ranking of the demonic beast and could barely threaten him, but they were a mortal threat to his soldier.

Most of the army who remained in the territory was too low level to fight the demonic beast, even more for the new recruits Jeffrey and Cyl were training. So Cyl decided to drive them away with his aura.

Unexpectedly the best felt Cyl's aura and didn't run away like the usual, but got even more ferocious. Cyl was confused, demonic beasts didn't behave like this usually, especially low-level ones who didn't have the strength to claim a territory.

As the beast continued the attack Cyl tried their best to hold the formation and protect his underlings, the number of beasts made him worry, there was too many demonic beasts in this area, he thought that it was strange that news about this situation didn't reach them sooner.

While he fought the wolf pack he held the stone he used to communicate with Philips sooner and activated it.

As Cyl and the soldier were in battle, Luckas was meditating when he heard loud growls outside the carriage, he wanted to check out what was happening, but, before he could leave the carriage shook, the mountain goats who the others solder rode here screamed in fear.

-" Fuck why there is a demonic beast here? I hope the situation there isn't too bad." Moria who was guarding the area outside yelled.

The noise of the battle soon interested, Luckas pecked outside only to see Moria cutting the head of one lonely wolf.

-" Is everything good? Should we move back?" Luckas voice was shaking as he spoke, he thanked God he didn't meet one of those wolds when he transmigrated here.

-" Don't worry, it may not look like, but from the remaining soldier here I'm one of the best." Moria's boast made Luckas feel safer but just looking the size of the wolf made him shudder in fear.

-" Oh, that's nice to hear, what rotten luck I have —--" Before Luckas could finish two more wolfs jumped from the forest towards Moria.

Moria was caught in surprise and tried to defend himself. he swung his axe with haste, but the wolves faced the axe without a drop of fear, the frenzy of the wolves made Moria frown, if things keep going like this he surely would win but with injuries.

Moria kept retreating near the carriage, he wanted to use it as cover to not let the wolves incircle him, as his battle reached closer and closer to the carriage Luckas's fear only grew.

As Moria was fighting the two wolves near the carriage, Luckas heard loud steps from the other side, just as he took distance from the direction of where the sound came, the carriage wall burst open and a wolf head appeared.

The foul stench from the wolf's mouth assaulted Luckas nouse, he felt like puking, but he gulped his vomit, the wolf was trying to enter the carriage that he created but it was stuck in the hole. Luckas quickly gathered the courage to run away, he knew that he couldn't run towards Moria as this would only put him at a disadvantage so he decided to exit the carriage through the door near where the wolf was struck

.

Luckas stoop up from his crouching position and sprinted towards the door, as he got closer the wolf tried to bite him but missed its mark by a little only grazing Luckas shirt.

-" Fuck, don't tell me I'm cursed or something, why every time i think things will get better shit like this happens?" Luckas was cursing loudly as he ran, he only stopped when he gained a great distance from the carriage.

Luckas looked back and saw the wolf still struck in the carriage so he decided to hide behind the frightened mountain goats that were tied up in a tree near.

While Luckas escaped Moria's situation turned even direr, he tried his best to defend himself from the two wolves assault, each swing of his axe injured the wolves more and more, but it looked like the wolves didn't even feel pain as they continued their advance.

A wolf suddenly jumped limpidly towards moria, his back paws were injured so his speed wasn't so fast, Moria reacted fast and rolled to the side to dodge the wolf's dash making it hit the carriage hard.

The already injured wolf collapsed after hitting the carriage wall, Moria took advantage of the wolf's momentary incapacitation and jumped towards the wolf in his front. He swung his axe with all his mighty, luckily to him, the wolf decided to meet the strike head-on.

Moria axe slipt the wolf head, from the other side Luckas heard a loud noise that remembered him of a melon popping, seeing that the commotion had stopped and the other wolf was still trapped in the carriage he decided to check out the result of the battle.

When Luckas reached the other side of the carriage Moria was walking towards the second wolf who was still slumping on the ground. Seeing that Moria had finished his fight he felt alleviated.

-" Hey, there is a wolf trapped in the carriage on the other side be careful." Luckas still warned Moria of the other threat.

-" Hahahaha, don't worry, I will finish things in an instant."

Moria's mood was joyful as he came out on top in the battle, he approached the slumping wolf and swung his axe once more, when the axe was about to hit the injured wolf the carriage wall burst open, and the other one who was trapped jumped towards Moria face.
