Elias Fate

Luckas stopped as he noticed two talent points in his system interface. Byrth, who was already following Maven, noted that he had come to a halt. - "Hey, are you okay?" Byrth immediately checked on Luckas, who was staring at nothing but the air in front of him.

-"Oh, I just recalled something." Luckas shook his head and continued walking while looking over his system interface.

Luckas struggled to keep a straight face as he examined his system; he knew he was still at the third level in both Qi cultivation and Body Cultivation, so he suspected he had unlocked another tree.

Luckas almost couldn't contain his delight when he checked the Shen talent tree and discovered that it was open. Luckas cast a fleeting glance towards Maven, wondering whether what Maven had taught him had anything to do with soul cultivation.

Luckas was perplexed because he didn't believe he had ever nurtured his soul; nonetheless, he remembered what Maven stated about his human soul and Elemental Soul being out of balance. He was certain that the process he had gone through had greatly nourished his soul.

The only thing on his mind was his Elemental Soul; if Maven was true, his Elemental Soul was in a higher realm; he wondered why the system didn't include this towards his soul cultivation. His only plausible explanation was that the Shen tree solely referred to your Human Soul Cultivation.

Byrth kept his eyes on Luckas, who was curiously silent as they traveled. At first, Byrth didn't think much of it, but as they continued to journey, Byrth became increasingly concerned about Luckas. He continued making weird faces and murmuring to himself. Byrth attributed this to his Elementaryization.

Byrth even thought Luckas was acting too much like Maven, especially when he spoke to the alleged Elementals who accompanied Maven. -" Hey Luckas?"

- "Oh, what's going on?" Luckas looked a bit too anxious as Byrth approached him.

– "Are you sure everything is fine? I just wanted to let you know that I'm around if you need anything."

Luckas, in Byrth's opinion, was acting exactly like Maven, and seeing his friend in this state made Byrth wonder if the Elementaryization had led individuals to become insane. He shook his head with a heavy sigh, no matter what, Luckas was his friend, and that wouldn't alter just because he was acting a little weird.

Philips had just arrived at the epicenter of the explosion while the three men headed towards the center of the explosion. As he approached, he discovered Jeffrey and Bryson's party attempting to escape the spell's aftershock.

When Jeffrey spotted Philips approaching, he relaxed, knowing that they wouldn't be at the mercy of the spell's destructive remaining energies.

– "Could it be possible that Elias was the one who cast the spell? Against whom was he fighting?" Philips appeared concerned about an old acquaintance.

Madeline's countenance darkened as Philips inquired about Elias' whereabouts. She tried to respond to him, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Noah wanted to take the lead as Madeline's senior when he saw her distraught expression, but he arrived late and didn't have much information.

-" He was up against one of the ———"

Madeline interrupted Noah just as he began to speak. -"Duke Philips, I request your help in rescuing the other members of my Sect." Madeline's firmness startled everyone, but she endured since her sect had already lost Elias today, and remaining still and putting Mathias and his party at risk would only do more harm to the Eternal Sun Sect.

– "Is there another group? What are their whereabouts? Who was in charge of the situation?" Philips' hope for Elias' safety grew as he learned about the other group.

-" They marched towards the Strafhampton Army's second camp." Madeline came to a halt as she was ready to respond to his final inquiry; she knew why he had asked, after all, Philips and Elias' friendship was well-known. " Mathias was in charge of the other party." Madeline's fist clenched as she uttered those words.

Philips sighed deeply and closed his eyes, realizing that his thoughts were correct. The aura on it was fairly familiar to him as he extended his hands and gathered some of the remaining energy that hovered around. – "Byrth and Luckas are still at the camp, Jeffrey returns with Cyl and a few men. We must act quickly to avoid future losses." Philips uttered a hushed remark.

Philips felt her melancholy, but she convinced herself that there were more important things to worry about than wallowing in misery. Everyone moved swiftly as Philips instructed, and they were about to leave when they noticed a yellow flash approaching their way.

Almost everyone froze as they noticed the yellow light, however, the flash stopped near the epicenter of Elias spell. Jeffrey was serious as he saw that who arrived was one young man with long blond hair.

Jeffrey turned to face Philips, who remained silent and watched from afar as Elias' injured body gently levitated towards the newcomer's arms. When Madeline discovered Elias' Sun tattoo on his chest was slowly becoming black, her eyes welled up with tears, Madeline rushed toward Magnus without a thought.

-" Go now, and take the rest of the men with you, and examine the location of the treasure after rescuing Luckas and Byrth, but don't go too deep, the Heigong may still have forces here;" Philips re-issued his orders and went to accompany Madeline.

-"Warm regards to Sect Master." Madeline and Noah greet their Leader

-" Greetings to the Holy Sun Man" Philips gave a low bow towards the man with respect.

As they greeted him, Magnus offered a faint nod and remained silent as he laid his hand over Elias tattoo. Philips realized that Magnus was attempting to pour energy into the tattoo, -"Does Elias have a chance of surviving?" Philips did not hesitate to inquire as to what was on everyone's mind.

-" Is there any chance of Elias surviving?" Philips didn't shy away and asked what was on everyone's mind.

When Magnus heard the question, his eyes shook. - "The Aurelion Mark uses the body as a vessel to contain the Eternal Flame; after the mark has used every last drop of energy, the branded body will be slowly drained of energy." Magnus' voice trembled as he continued to explain how the Mark worked. "Even if we were able to prevent the mark from absorbing Elias' energy, he would perish if the mark collapsed to a shortage of energy."

"Doesn't there seem to be any other option?" As she approached Elias, who had his eyes closed as if he was already dead, Madeline tightened her fist.

-"I could have used the Eternal Sun Disk to re-nourish his mark if I had brought it." Magnus knew that was impossible; even if he wanted to bring it and use it to save Elias, the Eternal Council would never allow him to waste the Eternal Sun Disk's reaming energy in this way.
