Prologue

"Mom?"

"What is it sweety?"

"Where is dad?"

"He's on a business trip. He'll be back in a few days"

That was the last time I saw my father.

He died in an accident, but nobody told me the details of it. I've been asking about the incident from mom, but she doesn't give me a proper answer. She'll just say that it was a car accident. I stopped asking about the accident, because I know I won't get an answer from anyone.

My father was a scientist. A smart one that is. His face was always glued to his laptop, so he didn't have time for me or my brother. He always said that I'll become someone like him someday. I always said that I don't want to be a scientist, but I guess people change.

My brother is like a best friend to me. He has always taken care of me and always will. Even though I live alone now, he still visits me and buys food for me, because I'm a bit poor. Actually, I'm financially unstable and need help ASAP. But really, I'm doing okay mentally, I think.

I've been living alone for 2 years now, because I went to college. My apartment is not big, actually, it has 3 rooms. A kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. It has everything I need so I'm satisfied.

I have two jobs right now. One is at a cafe and another one is at a shop. It's pretty tiring to do two jobs at a time, but I really need the money. My brother always says that he could help me with my apartment, but I've always turned his offers down, because I don't want him to pay for things that I can afford on my own.

My brother is a doctor, so he doesn't have a lot of time to hang out with me. He usually comes on the weekends.

My mother lives in another country because of her job, so I don't visit her that often. Especially with the money I have right now, it's really hard to plan a trip there.

I am studying hard to become a scientist. My graduation is in a month, so I'm really close to achieving my dreams. My best friend is also studying to become a scientist with me. His name is Kim Namjoon. Namjoon is a smart guy. He's basically like a reincarnated Albert Einstein. HE is also very handsome. Literally every girl is head-over-heels for him. I've gotten a lot of hate because I hang out with him everyday.

The worst thing that the girls have ever done to me, was when they locked me in a storage room for a day. It was pitch black in there and I had no food either. I got trauma's from that and I still shiver when I think about it. Luckily Namjoon found me and saved me.

Since then, Namjoon has literally been glued to me. He follows me basically everywhere and takes me home. I'm so greatful to have a friend like him. I don't know what I'd do to myself without him, but enough about that.
