Dream

Izara's dream started very peacefully. She was carrying a baby, her baby, in her arms. The baby was a cute little boy who was loved by all.

Everyone envied her because not only was he handsome and obedient but he was also very smart. But the fact that he looked exactly like his father disturbed her a lot.

Day by day, the boy looked more and more like his father and even started developing his character traits. Time passed by rapidly and the boy was already 9 years old.

On his 10th birthday celebration, his father came and looked for him. After that, he left with the boy after the court declared him the only legal parent of the child.

When the boy left with his dad, he also started developing his father's bad behaviors and even started hating his mother. He thought that she separated him from his dad and that she was vicious and evil and because of this, he felt disgusted by his mother.

And because his father always felt sad for not having the opportunity to witness the growth of his only heir, he took the lead in deciding to avenge him. Then many years later, when he was older, he kidnapped his mother and abandoned her in the desert.

Matteo went to Izara's room to check on her because she did not come down for dinner when he saw her frowning and panting in her sleep. Troubled, he went forward to wake her up. He felt that she must have had a nightmare and a very awful one at that.

Izara woke up while shivering from the fear. Beads of tears slowly drifted from her eyes. It was such a heartbreaking scene. Notwithstanding her aggrieved look, Matteo pulled her into a tight embrace.

They stayed like that for a while before Izara finally calmed down. After Matteo made sure that she was fine, he reluctantly let go of her and left her room after making sure that she ate some food and drank water before falling asleep again.

After that night, Izara had many other similar dreams for several consecutive nights. And each time she will wake up, Matteo will always be there for her and will often coax her to sleep.

She felt really moved by what he was doing for her. She felt that the Heavens had blessed her with such a loving and caring older brother.

Watching his only sister having countless sleepless nights troubled Matteo very much. He had a feeling that it was not as simple as it seemed to be.

But as his sister didn't tell him anything, he decided not to question her and not be a busybody. He at least hoped that she will open up to him as soon as possible so that she will carry a lesser burden.

On one of Izara's sleepless nights, Matteo left her room directly after comforting her and went to make a few preparations for the next day. He had finally thought of a way to brighten his sister's days. He made a few calls and then went back to sleep.

On the other hand, Izara who was pretending to sleep gradually opened her eyes a few seconds after Matteo left the room.

She felt a little depressed. She had regular nightmares and poor sleep, which affected her physical and mental health.

She knew she could not afford to stress because she was pregnant with a child. What if she lost the child as a result? What if it brought complications during birth? What if he got badly affected by it in the future while growing up? What more was that she was being a burden to her brother.

Waking up every night and going to sleep very late at night has become a daily routine for him. He will wake up late at night each time her nightmare starts and will accompany her until she falls asleep before heading to bed himself.

She knows it has been hard on him too as he had to delay his rest for her at night and go to work during the day. Also, she had been hiding all that she experienced from him making him even more overwhelmed.

She sincerely thought she was a bad person. Even though she killed no one, her actions were somewhat affecting the well-being of her most precious ones. Her baby and her brother.

Sighing, she decided to sort out her thoughts and figure out what she was going to do next. During the past few days that she had been to city K, she has not yet come out with a good plan and did not start anything productive.

Initially, she made a plan for herself but that was before she started experimenting with those nightmares. Therefore, she felt that her plan was not good enough.

Also, she disliked the idea of staying idle and being a burden. Other people may even gossip and say that she was a freeloader.

And for a good plan to be made, she must be clear-headed. So as for now, all she had to do was to have a good rest.

She decided to sleep with a free and worriless mind so that the next morning, she will be fully prepared for anything that will be about to come.

That night was particularly calm and peaceful. Izara fell asleep determined and mind-free, while Matteo slept with a dreamy and happy mind as he was already dreaming about the long-lost smile he was going to bring back to his sister.
