Double Posts
"Quickly take a seat, Miss Zhi Ruo"
Not knowing where the voice came from, Zhi Ruo still obeyed and sat down on the smallest seat behind the audience.
All eyes left her, some sizing her up like a disgusting animal. Some wondered what type of position she held in the company to distract the meeting.
When all eyes left Zhi Ruo, Ai Mi still couldn't stop staring at her. The furiousness in Ai Mi can be seen even at the back of the audience in the massive hall.
Her eyes were calm, but it showed unlimited rage!
"Um... Miss?... Miss Ai Mi?" one of the assistant of Zhi Ruo whispers to Ai Mi so that she could stop staring and carry on.
Ai Mi got the signal, but it still took a short time before she opened her mouth to speak.
"I am so sorry for all distractions. Please forgive me, the head of GJP for all distractions that have been caused"
No one moved, but the eyes of Ai Mi did to Zhi Ruo, passing unto her the signal of doom.
"As I was saying, may we please welcome the new employees hired by Global Japan Products within the month" Ai Mi says and on a straight line, they started coming into the hall with stern faces on.
Ai Mi watches intensely, her eyes searching aimlessly for Haoran on the line of the workers coming in.
When her eyes finally got to him, Ai Mi's smile drowned even if she hasn't started smiling yet.
Seeing Zhi Ruo clutch his cloth softly and gave him a warm smile and a thumbs up, whispering something still audible in his standing position.
Ai Mi's eyes then went to Haoran. He responds with a small smile and a slight nod.
Ai Mi blinks softly. Her face is completely blank of emotion.
When they finally made it to the front, Ai Mi took her eyes off Haoran and thought for a second.
What does Zhi Ruo have in mind now? And Haoran... Do they have something going on between them?
She closes her eyes and takes a long deep breath before proceeding.
"These employees are here for the designation of double posts. The older employees are here, but I will make sure I send them all home during the course of the meeting"
Haoran eyes widen a little.
His eyes made its way slowly to Zhi'ai and Bella, just right before the door shut close from behind the audience. Go home? Why will they be sent home?
Thinking about this made Haoran gulp to the extent of choking. What are their double posts? Or don't they have to get double posts too?
"These ones have shown real hardwork and determination in the jobs they have carried out recently and I must say, I am pleased with whatever they have done so far"
Almost all the new workers in front felt pride hearing Ai Mi say this.
Who knew she could be such a sweetheart...?
"However, you all still have the right to eliminate anyone who isn't suitable for the double posts held this year and wait for the next one held after five years"
Nope! Not a sweetheart!
"These ones have managed to win my trust and I am pleased with their works"
Haoran squints his eyes lightly staring at the faces of those seated as the panel. Some stern and ugly faces staring back.
"With that being said, I welcome one of the judges seated, the one respected by Global Japan Products and will be honored continually, Mrs Jacobs From America"
An American? Haoran eyes glue to the woman who is neatly dressed in a blue beautiful gown who stands up and walks up to Ai Mi, taking over the microphone.
"Who thought old people will be respected by the youths these days" everyone except the employees bursts out laughing.
Some giggles, others chuckles and whispering began.
Haoran found the American woman annoying instantly.
"But what do I have to say? It's now considered as something good, when a young person like this beautiful CEO welcome a person like me, who's time, as seemingly passed" Everyone smiles dearly at Ai Mi. Haoran turn in curiosity to see how Ai Mi will react.
Of course, her smile held him bound and he froze for a moment.
She looks so beautiful when she smiles.
But sadly, she rarely smiles.
"Thank you, Ai Mi Bao. Your beauty has brought good luck to this company"
Everyone starts to whisper again. Smiles on their faces, most of them admiring Ai Mi and her type of rule.
The employees of GJP at the other hall stares at the screen, which they are using to watch. Some envious of her. Others watched in disgust and criticism.
All of them wondered what good Ai Mi did to bring such praise to herself, or did she just act wonderfully well to fool these people?
The older employees termed this as pure torture and made promises that they won't keep shut when the board meeting members asked them about Ai Mi's rule.
They'll spill out everything they find cruel that she has been torturing them with, including overloading them with work!
Ai Mi caught a glimpse of their stares through the small screen displaying them from the corner of her eyes but just used the sight to enhance the smile on her face and made it look more beautiful.
"Please give a round of applause to this beautiful woman" the hall roars in excitement as they gave a round of applause for Ai Mi.
"Good day, Everyone. My name is Mrs Jacobs Ryan, coming from the United States Of America. I am a distributor of the products manufactured by Global Japan Products. Today we have come for the designation of the new employees"
She pauses, staring at everyone's eyes as they listened attentively.
"We all know that days like this are very important, therefore we shouldn't joke with it. Today's board meeting is centering more on crime detection and the spying agency"
Spying agency?
Haoran and Sheng looked at each other. Spy…ING?!
"I'm very sure Miss Ai Mi would have told you already about what this board meeting is all about. We must be fully aware about what this meeting entails and how the conclusion of everything will turn out"
She unfolds a paper in her hand "A total of thirty-three new employees were chosen to attend this meeting, and to be given the double posts"
Haoran closes his eyes. He has a feeling that this is not just a meeting.
No organization in their right senses will give a single individual a double post. Plus, they have certain people that are to be given these posts.
He opens his eyes with stern eyes staring directly at him.
Something doesn't feel right.
