Chapter Sixty-Five

Sarah POV

When I saw that pretty sophisticated lady hug my boss,my heart was in pain for a little while. I had to call myself to order cause I shouldn't be feeling this way cause my boss is not entitled to me and someone who is rich and handsome bound to have a girlfriend or fiancée.

I tried to cheer myself up by going over where the food are displayed on the table I picked the amount of dish I can finish and look for a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy myself. It happened that where I sat down is where I can see my boss and the pretty lady clearly. Can today get any better of all place to sit I chose here I muttered to myself, I look up from my food when I noticed the lady say something to my boss and the both of them walked outside.

Maybe they want privacy I reasoned, if they want privacy am sure Boss have a room in this mansion he would have took her there my inner thought said. That's true maybe what they want to discuss is not intimate. It's almost thirty minutes since my boss walked outside with the pretty lady when he stormed inside anger visible on his face. That made me to wonder what is actually going on,Boss approached his mother not too long they walked upstairs.

My curious self couldn't sit quiet so I approached Rose, hey Rose how are you enjoying the party so far I asked Rose trying to start a conversation so that she will not suspect the main reason why am here. The party is nice better than last year Rose responded, What happened at last year party I asked trying to show interest in the conversation that I started. Last year Christmas party is so boring nobody came with any gift cause our boss mandated us not to come with any gift, there is no Christmas tree or decoration though the house belong to his mother but I guess the woman don't want to offend her son.

Wow I guess am lucky then cause this is my first Christmas party I attended in this company's name and it is this lively I said smiling widely. Yeah you are our lucky charm since you started working in the company everything is changing gradually the gloomy atmosphere is no longer in the company and to the extent our boss is the one that brought up the idea of Christmas gift something that was like a taboo three years ago to him Rose said sipped the wine she is holding and smiled at me.

Since you insinuating that our boss is happy with this party why is he angry when he walked in and one minute later he went upstairs with his mother. Immediately I said that Rose gave me that sharp look my heart was beating so fast I don't want her to ask me any question or act like she caught on what am trying to know but the next thing she said calmed my heart. That I don't know what is going on he just asked to talk with his mother that it is private matter Rose answered nonchalantly. I released the breath that I don't know I was holding.
