Chapter Seventy-Two

Third Person POV

Melvin have absorbed himself in alcohol since the day of the competition, the fighting spirit in him died that day. What happened to him that day was unexpectd he thought he got it all covered, that he is already the winner and he had already placed most of his income in that competition. His family are not ready to assist him and he don't know how to face them after the way he bragged to them.

Melvin on other hand have no one to blame cause he remember vividly that Paul tried to explained something to him but he shut the poor man up. Also he forgot another important factor Sarah is not ambitious like Anna,Sarah is a faithful lover cause it's very clear to him that Sarah knew that the design is not what is required in the competition and still went ahead and gave it to Evans. It only mean one thing Sarah and George are working together.

Anna on the other is furious at her husband, how can he give up so easily and she decided within herself if Melvin already gave up on their mission that she will continue with the mission even if it means working alone. Anna walked to her husband where he sat at the bar in their mansion drinking, this seemed to be the only thing you are good at this days Anna asked Melvin.

Anna can you please leave me alone I want peace Melvin pleaded with her. Pay I will give you peace but first I want you to call Evans Anna requested from her husband. For what? Why do you want to call him Melvin questioned. Anna is trying to hold herself from shouting at her husband and decided to answer his question, Since you have given up on the mission I have not given up too so I need you to call Evans or give me his number so that I can call him to tell him the next step to take.

Am not calling him neither am I going to give you his number Melvin said with his finality tone. Why? Why won't call him or give me his contact? Anna asked anxiously. Can't you see Anna is very obvious that George is aware of what we did or do you think he is a fool,that guy will be watching us like a hawk now ready to devour us if we take any step Melvin told his with the look of defeat in his eyes.

Hahaha! Hahaha! Anna laughed her laughter echoed inside their mansion Anna laughter got Melvin confused cause he is wondering what could be so funny with what he just said now that his wife was laughing so hard to the extent of holding her stomach. What's so funny Melvin decided to ask his wife, God I can't believe you just said that now are you talking about the same George that don't have the balls to confront me after what I did to him Three years ago or are you talking about a different George,Please honey save me that sermon George I know don't have the balls for that.

Melvin can't believe what he just heard,God am so afraid at the kind of monster Anna is becoming and also he blame himself for what Anna is turning into it's his fault Anna is like this cause he is the one that persuaded Anna to betray George in the first place he used the love the lady have for him to compelled her to do what she did cause he was desperate to redeem himself in front of his family member. But this Anna that is standing in front of him don't know when to accept defeat and he is hiding from her the fact that their construction company is already down the drain the only thing they have now is this mansion,their cars and the casino Melvin inherited from his family.

Melvin decided to try and reason with Anna so that she can drop the idea of going after George cause he already know their so called mission is a failure. The same George you said that don't have the balls to do anything won the competition, how do you think he was able to achieve that? Melvin asked Anna. It's very obvious that Paul betrayed us,George and Paul are the best in this field and they respect each other work none of them want to sabotage the other.

Paul accepted to do the modification because of the problem his company was facing then he need the money to get his company back to his feet, he did not work for us because he have any respect or loyalty for us. The chances that he told George what is going on is very high,that is why I need you to give me Evans contact so that he will help to  fish out that betrayal wherever he is Anna said why fuming.

Melvin already know that his wife don't give empty threat and he don't want an innocent man to bear the brunt of his wife fury decided to come to the aid of the guy. Like you said the guy is desperate and any feeling of loyalty fly out of the window so far he is concerned, Paul did not betray us I just want you to know that George became smarter this time around or do you think the moment the competition was announced that he will sit back and watch and allow what happened three years ago to repeat itself again and no am not going to give Evans contact and this is the end of this discussion Melvin said stood up and headed upstairs.

Melvin climbed the stairs when he reached at the top he turned around and look towards where his wife stood, Anna just accept defeat it is over,stop already okay Melvin told her. Never Melvin if you have accepted defeat I have not I must see to the end of it even it means that I will work alone.
