The next few days passed by quickly, and Xu Anyi received a call from the marketing manager of Design telling her not to worry. However, the comment still remained at the top, and it continued to gain more and more likes and replies.
Xu Anyi did not care about it anymore, and she turned off her social media to avoid receiving so many messages from Xia Yiwei's fans.
About a week later, Xu Anyi entered a taxi and gave the taxi driver the address she had received from Shen Lili. The taxi flew by the city until it stopped by a small building a distance away from the center of the city, where all the large companies stood.
Xu Anyi looked at the simple small building and paid the driver before getting out of the car and walking in through the unlocked front door.
There was a small area upon walking in with what appeared to be a front desk to the side, and right in front, there was another door that was pushed open halfway.
Xu Anyi walked in the other door and entered a large space. Half of the room was empty, and there were several crumpled papers thrown onto the empty space.
Xu Anyi bent down and picked one of it up, smoothing it out to see an unfinished drawing of a dress, which had angry scribbles all over it.
She dropped the paper and looked to the other side, which had several long desks with computers on them. In front of each computer there was a chair, but besides that, the desks were empty.
There was one large rectangular table in front of the desks, and this one was filled with more papers and several scissors and measuring tapes.
Xu Anyi looked around the office in awe, surprised at how large and equipped it was. She had expected a small empty room, but this was an actual office. They could start the business here!
She walked over to the table and looked at the papers on the table, and as she was about to pick one up, there was a sound as a small door to the side of the room was pushed open, and Shen Lili walked in, rubbing her eyes.
"You're here!" She said with a yawn, "Sorry, I fell asleep."
Shen Lili walked over to her, "It's okay. This is the office?"
Shen Lili nodded.
"It's amazing. . . I didn't think it would be this big."
"Really?" Shen Lili chuckled softly, "I thought it would be too small for a business."
"It's great. We are just getting started," Xu Anyi smiled, picking up a piece of paper, "Is this your design?"
Shen Lili ran her fingers through the table, "Yeah. . . It'll probably take a while longer before I can finish it though."
"That's okay. We have time." Xu Anyi looked at the messy sketches on the white paper and her eyes lit up. Shen Lili had always been talented at drawing and designing since a young age, and she was known for having a good fashion sense.
Since she was born into a good family and had an older brother to take care of the family business, Xu Anyi wasn't surprised that Shen Lili ended up going into fashion.
"Just tell me when you are ready," Xu Anyi said as she put the paper back down.
Shen Lili nodded as she pulled a chair over and sat down, spinning a pen in her fingers, "I saw Design's recent post. You modeled with Xia Yiwei?"
Xu Anyi looked over at her, surprised she knew about it too.
Shen Lili put the pen down and frowned slightly, "I think she is quite good at modeling. She's obviously not as pretty as you, but I heard from some of my other friends that she is the best model among the female actresses, which is why many brands want to work with her."
Xu Anyi's lips curled up slightly, "Really?"
Shen Lili looked at her and raised an eyebrow, sensing the mockery in her expression, "You have confidence you will beat her?"
Xu Anyi looked over at her and smiled, "I have more than just confidence."
—
Xu Anyi placed her phone on the table to the side so she could take off her shoes as she entered the house. Just as she finished changing into her slippers, there was a buzz as her phone started ringing, and she picked it up to see 'Qin Beihou' on the screen.
"Hello?"
"Xu Anyi!" The voice on the other side screamed right away.
Xu Anyi pulled the phone away from her ear and put it on speaker mode, walking into the house, "What is it?"
"I'm filming with Xia Yiwei."
"I saw. She posted about it yesterday. Didn't it start yesterday?" Xu Anyi put her phone down on the dining table as she poured herself a glass of cold water.
"Yeah, but I didn't go. I didn't want to see her face on such a beautiful Sunday." Qin Beihou said coolly, but his words made Xu Anyi chuckle.
"You missed the first day of filming? I don't think the director will be very happy about that."
"Do you think I care? They should be happy that I even agreed to film this with that disgusting little rat! If it weren't because I liked the male lead character and the original novel of this drama, there is no way I would have agreed to film it!"
Xu Anyi walked over to the couch and sat down, glancing at the clock to see that Si Mu would be back any minute now.
"Well then why are you calling me now?" Xu Anyi tilted her head to the side.
"Can't I complain to you a little?" He asked pitifully, "I mean. . . If you had agreed to film it with me, I wouldn't have to suffer through this torture now."
Xu Anyi frowned, "You know I can't act."
"That rat can't act either!"
Xu Anyi threw her head back against the couch and couldn't help but laugh whenever he called Xia Yiwei a rat. . . She had to admit the title fit her quite nicely.
"Okay, okay. It's just a few months. Be professional, Houzi!" She comforted.
"It is already very professional of me to try and suppress my very strong urge to throw up whenever I see her face." Qin Beihou said through gritted teeth, "Oh, and I still don't know yet."
He paused, "Five years ago. . . How exactly did she kill-"
Xu Anyi turned her head around when she suddenly heard the front door click open. She looked back at the phone and didn't listen to the rest of his question, although she could guess what he was going to ask.
"Sorry, Houzi, but I got to go. I'll talk to you later!"
Then, she hung up the call and stood up, just in time as Si Mu walked in, holding his black suit jacket in his arm.
Xu Anyi smiled when she saw him and walked over, taking the jacket from him, "Are you tired? Why don't we go eat out tonight?"
Si Mu looked at her and nodded.
"I'll go get ready."
Xu Anyi put the jacket down onto a chair and walked up the stairs, going up to her room as the first half of Qin Beihou's question rang in her mind.
How exactly did she kill. . .
Xu Anyi closed her eyes as she took a deep breath.
That was a question she also wish she knew the answer to. . .
