Si Mu's Chicken Soup

"Cheers!" Xu Anyi exclaimed as she held her glass up and the red wine twirled inside the cup.

Si Mu lifted his cup up as well and the two glasses touched before Xu Anyi tilted her head back and drank all of the wine inside the cup in one gulp.

She scrunched her face up at the sharp taste as she brought the glass down and looked at the large feast on the table, "There's so much food!"

Si Mu smiled as he leaned forward and began scooping out the soup into two bowls, "To celebrate."

Xu Anyi pressed her lips together excitedly as she looked at the warm chicken soup and she raised an eyebrow, "This is your first time making chicken soup."

Si Mu looked at her and then quickly looked back down, handing her one of the bowls, which had a large drumstick in it, "There was a large chicken in the fridge so I made it."

Xu Anyi nodded as she took a large gulp and nodded with satisfaction, "How can you be so good at everything. . . Where did I find myself such a perfect man?"

Si Mu beamed at this compliment, and his mood seemed to shoot up into the sky as he sat up straighter and continued to place food onto her plate.

As he watched her finish the bowl, he then slowly asked, "Then how does it taste compared to grandpa Min's?"

Xu Anyi looked up from beneath her bowl and raised an eyebrow, "Oh. . . So this is why you suddenly made chicken soup."

Si Mu blinked a few times as he looked to the side and shook his head, "No, I was just wondering."

Xu Anyi smiled as she put down the empty bowl and thought about it before saying slowly, "Grandpa Min's chicken soup has the taste of good memories and past love. Your chicken soup has the taste of present and future love. . ."

She smiled, "I cannot live without either."

Si Mu looked at her and then picked up her bowl and began scooping in more soup, giving her the other drumstick as well, "But one should let go of the past and look into the future. . . So drink more of mine."

Xu Anyi suppressed a smile as she took the bowl from him, pursing her lips out, "I didn't know you were this petty and competitive!"

Grandpa Min had merely said 'I bet he can't make chicken soup as well as your grandpa Min can', and he got jealous just because of that!

Xu Anyi shook her head as she took another sip of wine from her glass and began eating the other dishes. They ate in silence for a while before Xu Anyi suddenly looked up and said with a smile, "Thank you."

Si Mu raised an eyebrow, "For what?"

"For the opportunity! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to shoot for Design and none of this would have happened-"

"You have to stop thanking me," he said with a stern expression, "I am your husband, and like I said the first time we met, there is every reason why a husband should help and support his wife. Plus, this is all your work. I just helped with the first step."

Xu Anyi smiled and she nodded, not saying anything further.

Even though he said that, she knew that he had no obligation to do everything he was doing for her, and she was definitely going to repay him back in some way in the future.

After eating dinner, the two of them sat down on the couch, both of them working on their laptops. Xu Anyi opened up her mailbox and saw that it was filled with mail for the first time in forever.

She looked through the mail and found that it was all from companies asking to work with her.

Her eyes widened in surprise as she read every single mail. Was it because of the shoot with Design?

But that seemed unlikely. . . If Xia Yiwei had indeed done something in the past to stop brands from contacting her, there was no way they would all suddenly change their minds because of one shoot.

Xu Anyi frowned slightly but didn't think too much about it. Having mail was better than no mail.

From the side, Si Mu glanced over at her computer screen and saw that she was reading through her inbox, and his lips curled up slightly as he looked back at his own screen and sent his assistant a message:

'Good work.'

Si Mu was in his office, and there was a knock as the door was pushed open and his assistant walked in, stopping in front of his desk, "Is there anything you need, sir?"

Si Mu leaned back against his chair and folded his arms together, "I want you to contact all the fashion and clothing companies around here and. . . tell them about Xu Anyi. For some reason. . . they don't seem to know much about her."

He frowned as he tapped his finger against the table, obviously disappointed about these companies.

The assistant froze for a second as he tried to remember who Xu Anyi was, and then he thought about the woman that had come to the company with the boss the other day, and his back straightened as he nodded, "Yes sir!"

He took a step back and then paused, "Um. . . May I ask which companies I should contact? And what exactly should I say about Ms. Xu?"

Si Mu frowned and glared at the assistant, "What do you think I am paying you so much for?"

The assistant gulped and immediately rushed out of the room, "Yes sir!"

After the assistant had left, Si Mu looked at his computer screen, which had a list of the top fashion companies in Country Z on it. Then, he closed it and smiled softly.

Since the companies didn't seem to have a good taste in models, than he would have to help them a little bit.
