CHAPTER 60

I parried a dagger strike from the original lolita and dodged another from her clone. Fighting one of her was already a pain in the ass - fighting two was even worse. If I wasn't flexible, I was pretty sure I would have broken some bones from some of the sudden and unnatural movements I had to make to avoid her strikes.

Initially, I planned to tank most of the attacks using my high defense, but I changed my mind after I received a few strikes. Her attacks hurt like hell, and I was beginning to feel numb from all the ones I'd taken from the beginning of the battle.

"Ah, I would have loved to continue this battle but I have to leave now"

Angela suddenly retreated leaving the clone to continue fighting me. As the clone charged at me, I silently increased the amount of mana being used to amplify my stats. 

CRACKLE!

The lightning surrounding me increased in intensity and I felt a surge of energy flowing through my body. I began moving faster than before, dodging the clone's strikes with ease. My own strikes became faster and stronger, and soon the clone began to look a little ragged.

I could see Angela watching the fight, her eyes narrowed in concentration. I knew she was preparing something, and I had to act quickly.

The clone attacked again, and I dodged to the side, grabbing its arm as I did so.

CRACKLE!!

Lightning flowed from me to the clone as I twisted it's arm, using my momentum to fling the clone into the nearest wall. It hit with a thud, falling to the ground and disappearing into a poor of shadows.

I took a moment to catch my breath, and I noticed the original lolli rushing towards me, a glowing dagger in her hand. It was glowing white, which I recognized as ki, but there was also another color mixed with it. I didn't know what it was, but I knew I didn't want it to touch me. I had a bad feeling about it.

Damn!

I realized a fatal flaw in my arsenal: I had no single-target offensive spells that weren't area-of-effect. All my offensive spells were either AOE spells or utility spells. If I'd had a single-target offensive spell, this battle might have ended a long time ago. Perpetual Lightning Judgment was a great spell, but with my current proficiency, it was too slow, and if an opponent was able to detect the magic circle as soon as it appeared, they could easily avoid it.

Then,at that moment everything slowed down, a sudden epiphany hit me. I knew from my lessons with Emma that I could use mana manipulation to increase the output of my spells, but what if I could use it to change the nature of the spell itself? If that were possible, it would solve many of my problems. I might even be able to combine spells. I felt a sense of excitement as I considered the possibilities.

Being a battle freak might not be so bad after all!

"Hahaha" I laughed

A blue glow suddenly spread out from my body, covering an area of 500 meters. The sky within the area became cloudy, and lightning streaked across it, striking continuously. An invisible pressure filled the air, suppressing everyone except me. But I felt that this wasn't enough. I couldn't waste this moment of enlightenment on such a mediocre spell. I needed to push my limits and do something better, something Emma hasn't thought of yet.

"Tsk, what a disgrace? How can you spend so long fighting this brat, heh Angela "

I suddenly felt a bad premonition, my pseudo-domain which was beginning to take form instantly broke apart .

"Let me end this once and for all"

He raised his hand up in the air and said one word.

[ANNIHILATION]

A magic circle appeared above him, and a massive beam of red light shot out from it. I tried to move, but the beam was just too fast. At the last moment, before it hit me, someone grabbed my hand. Before I knew it, we had teleported. But the poor me didn't know that, I had already fainted.
