Chapter 1 : Prologue

In the far north of the continent, amidst the eternal snows, a great battle was unfolding.

"Quite impressive indeed. You truly are worthy to be my adversary, O Knight of Light!" proclaimed the Immortal King, his voice echoing with grandiose and overbearing pride.

Hovering in the air, his black robe fluttering, he scattered dark energy around him. Commanding his undead minions, his presence was like that of a dark lord descending upon the world. A calamity reborn upon the continent. The Immortal King.

Behind the bizarre mask, shattered from the fierce battle, only a skull remained, and the blue flames rising from its eye sockets struck terror into those who met its gaze.

"As expected of the nightmare of the continent, Immortal King! But we shall never give up. As long as the light's power is with us, we will not be defeated!" the Luminous Knight retorted, his tone heroic and unwavering.

Facing him with a sword of light, the knight shouted valiantly. Though his armor was damaged and he bore wounds from the ongoing battle, his eyes blazed with conviction.

"See, he's not as tough as we thought!"

"If we combine our strength, we can definitely overcome this!"

And so spoke his companions, each a hero who had overcome countless trials to reach this point.

Boom! The sound of explosions echoed as the knight's companions clashed with the undead, reigniting the fierce battle.

While his allies held off the undead, the Luminous Knight and the Immortal King resumed their ongoing duel. The sword enveloped in morning light carved beautiful arcs through the pitch-dark night, while the cursed abyss snapped its jaws, eager to swallow the light.

Their exchange was so precise, the continuous flow of battle so seamless, it almost appeared as a choreographed play.

'It's all staged, but how did it come to this...?'

Indeed.

The reborn terror of the continent, the moving disaster. The Immortal King. The Paladin of the Holy Order, the Sword of Conviction. The Luminous Knight.

And then there was me, watching this spectacle as if it were a movie, munching on chicken in the comfort of my warm room.

For in the end, all of them were 'me'.
