My First Magic Spell

[Third POV]

After Ceobe thanked Rudeus for accepting her request, they both went inside the cottage along with the Holy Beast.

On the other hand, Gyes was left speechless on the deck.

He doesn't know what to say about the beast girl's determination to learn magic after knowing that Ghislaine also did the same thing.

"[The Beast Race really has changed]" the beast man mutters.

After that, he turns around and then walks away from the cottage in silence.

Meanwhile inside the cottage, Rudeus and Ceobe were sitting on the living area, preparing on what to learn first. The beast girl is very excited on the lessons, so she asked the boy.

"Rudeus, where do we start?"

"First, we need to learn the basic terms about magic"

"Okay~"

Rudeus begins with the introduction of magic and told Ceobe that magic uses mana, which is found inside a person's body.

Then he said that there were two ways invoke magic and that is through magic circles and incantation. However, the incantation was the go-to method of magicians in battle.

Magic is classified into three categories, attack magic, healing magic and summoning magic.

[Attack magic] is used to create projectiles to attack an opponent. There were four classes in this category, which includes fire, water, earth and wind.

[Healing magic] is used to heal injuries, as well as detoxifies any illnesses and poison. This also includes the holy magic, which used to battle against evil entities, and barrier magic, which creates magical barriers that block attacks.

[Summoning magic] is used to call forth something. It is said to summon magical beasts and spirits that serves the summoner.

Lastly, he said that magic is ranked from lowest to highest. This includes beginner, intermediate, advanced, saint, king, emperor, and God.

After that discussion, Rudeus proceeds to demonstrate his magic to Ceobe.

"Listen up, Ceobe. I will show you the incantation for the beginner magic [Water ball]"

The beast girl nodded and she followed him outside.

Rudeus and Ceobe went to the deck, so that they have enough room to showcase magic without damaging the property.

"Alright, here I go" Rudeus said as he raises his arm to the open and begin reciting the incantation.

"Let the great protection of water be on the place thou seekest. I call a refreshing burbling stream here and now. [Water Ball]"

After he invoke the magic spell, a ball of water begins to form on the palm of his hand.

"Wow, that's so cool~" Ceobe happily said.

She was utterly amazed by the wonderful spectacle right in front of her. So much so that her eyes sparkles and her wags her tail vigorously.

"It's your turn, Ceobe"

Rudeus cancel his spell and prompted Ceobe to repeat the same magic. She complied and raises her arm to begin chanting the incantation.

"[Hold it right there, young lady]"

However, before Ceobe could recite, she was interrupted by a voice.

She turns her head and saw her mother who is upset.

The air of the situation becomes cold when Ceobe's mother appeared before them. She looks visibly upset about something and she marches towards the young beast girl.

"[Mama, what are you doing here?]" Ceobe asked nervously, not knowing why her mother is upset.

The beast woman furrows her brows, glares at her daughter and then spoke.

"[You know why am I upset, sweetie?]"

"Umm... I don't know, mama]"

The mother then grabs both of Ceobe's shoulders and then suddenly pouted.

"[I heard from sir Gyes that you were learning magic and yet, you haven't told me about this]" she said while beginning to cry.

"[Eh?]"

"[My dear sweet daughter is about to cast her first magic without me witnessing it. How cold of you, Ceobe]" the beast woman weeps as she hugs her daughter.

"[Oh...]"

Ceobe tried to calm her mother down and apologies for not informing her earlier.

Then once everything is fine now, she continued her demonstration.

That is until Eris and the two beast girls arrived to the cottage and saw Ceobe about to do something.

"What is Ceobe doing there?" Eris asked Rudeus, curious on what is going on.

"She is about to perform a magic spell"

"""Ooh"""

The girls were surprised that Ceobe is learning magic and they were interested on witnessing the demonstration.

Meanwhile, Ceobe noticed that the audience increased, which made her a bit nervous. She took a deep beath and raised her arm to begin chanting the incantation.

"Let the great protection of water be on the place thou seekest. I call a refreshing burbling stream here and now. [WATER BALL]"

As she finishes the chant, a ball of pristine water was form on Ceobe's palm. Everyone saw how she demonstrated her magic spell and were quite amused by the result.

"Hey Rudeus, did I do it right?" Ceobe excitedly asked Rudeus, in which gave her a thumbs up.

"Yeah. Good job, Ceobe"

Hearing that reply, the beast girl's eyes sparkle and she looks at her mother.

"[Mama, look. I finally learned magic]"

"[Congratulation, sweetie. Your father will be proud of you]"

While the audience were applauding Ceobe, two new arrivals showed up to witness the scene. It was the chief and his son, Gyes.

They both saw the young beast girl holding a ball of water on her hand, which intrigued them.

"[You know, Gyes]"

"[Yes, father?]"

"[I am starting to regret that we had to send two of our children to Ranoa academy just to learn magic for our people, when we already have one here]"

"[Do you mean my other daughter and the Adoldia?]"

"[Yes, those two]"

"[How could this be? We sent them there for nothing?]"

The chief deeply sighs at Gyes' distress and then approaches the crowd. Ceobe and the other noticed them coming, looking a bit surprised by their visit. The elderly beast man then stops in front of the beast girl and spoke.

"[Well done, Ceobe Aldoldia. Keep up the good work and continue practicing your magic]" he said as he put his hand on her shoulder.

Hearing those words, the young beast girl felt honored and she meekly nod in response.

"[T-thank you, chief. I will do my best]"
