Ch. 123 Quest Board

( Third Pov )

" It's so damn hot!!" Yuto shouted as he walked through the forest.

Atalanta nodded as she followed Yuto.

" It's like. the God of sun has descended." Atalanta spoke.

The sun was blazing down on them. Even with the shades of the trees, they could still feel the heat.

" A river!!" Atalanta shouted as she pointed her hand in the direction.

" Yes!!" Yuto celebrated as they both ran to the river.

* Splash *

Yuto jumped in before Atalanta.

" Puah!" Yuto's head splash resurfaced.

* Splash *

Atalanta also resurfaced as well.

Yuto looked at her, and she had a fish in her mouth.

" Did you catch that with your mouth?" Yuto questioned as he pointed at the fish.

" Hm." Atalanta nodded.

" Well, it looks like we have lunch." Yuto spoke as he tried to pull the fish.

Atalanta wasn't letting go of the fish.

Yuto and Atalanta paused before Yuto spoke.

" Are we really going to do this?"

Atalanta just glared at Yuto.

They both floated on the river as they had a stand-off.

As Yuto still held onto the fish and Atalanta still biting on the fish, Atalanta was the first to move as she tried to get away, but Yuto was quicker as he dragged Atalanta into the water.

* Splash *

' He's too fast, I'll just wait till he's out of air.' Atalanta thought as she let herself get dragged down.

As Yuto tried to grab the fish, Atalanta fought back. They both wrestled underwater.

But a few minutes later, she noticed that she was the only one running out of air.

Yuto was perfectly fine as he managed to grab the fish.

Atalanta was running out of air, so she quickly swam up.

* Splash *

" Gasp!" Atalanta gasped for air.

* Splash *

Yuto came up as he had a smug smile.

Atalanta just glared at him.

Yuto took out a kunai and gutted the fish. taking a price of meat from the fish, he pocket the kunai.

Yuto took out a bottle.

" This is a special sauce I created myself." Yuto spoke proudly as he dropped some on the fish before handing it to Atalanta.

" Here." Yuto held out the fish.

Atalanta immediately ate the fish.

Atalanta had stars in her eyes as she tasted the fish.

Yuto chuckled as he watched Atalanta chewing slowly.

Yuto grabbed a piece of meat before also eating it as well.

" Alright, come on, let's get out and keep moving." Yuto spoke as he swam to the shore.

Atalanta nodded and followed him.

" Sigh, alright, it seems the hear died down." Yuto spoke as I walked with Atalanta through the marketplace.

" Try not to steal anything." Yuto spoke as he pulled Atalanta from a fruit vendor.

"I'll take when I'm hungry." Atalanta spoke as she ignored Yutos' instruction.

" Sigh." Yuto sighed as he kept walking forward.

They both walked until Yuto noticed a board.

" Hey, check it out. it's a quest board." Yuto pointed out.

The both of them looked at the quest board.

" Hmm, it looks like it's been stamped by the city hall." Yuto spoke as he looked at the stamp in the bottom right of the poster.

" We could get paid for hunting animals." Atalanta pointed out as she grabbed a poster.

" Oh yeah, we could. Come on, let's hunt some boars." Yuto replied.

Yuto and Atalanta walked out of the city gates to hunt some boars.

" Hey, look tracks." Yuto spoke as he crouched down.

" They went this way." Atalanta spoke.

They both silently followed the trail.

A few minutes passed.

They both found a group of boars in an open area.

" How about a bet?" Yuto spoke as he looked at Atalanta.

" I'll win this time." Atalanta responded.

The both of them took our bows, and just as they aimed Atalanta noticed Yuto had two arrows on the strings.

Yuto, seeing Atalantas' questioning fast, looked at her with a mocking face.

" What? Can't do this?" In a mocking voice, Yuto looked down Atalanta.

" Tch, I could do it as well." Fire lit up in Atalantas' eyes as she took out another arrow and out it on the bowstring.

" 3...2...1...Shoot." Yuto counted down as they both released the string.

* Swoosh * * Thump Thump *

Yutos' arrows managed to peirce tow boars by their neck. They tried to run but fell. ot long after due to blood loss.

Atalanta arrows fell and hit a boar under its belly, and the other one grazed the other.

" Tch." Atalanta was disappointed as she lost again.

Seeing the boar running away, Atalanta quickly shot another, killing it.

" Well, it looks like you lost again." Yuto spoke as he pulled an arrow out of the boar.

Atalanta didn't say anything and just pulled her arrows out of the boars.

" Come on, don't sulk now. Let's turn these boars in." Yuto chuckled as he put the boars over his shoulders.

Atalanta did the same as well.

Atalanta kept quiet as she followed behind Yuto.

Yuto noticed this.

" Sigh. Are you really sulking?" Yuto asked.

" No." Atalanta coldly responds.

" Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be the greatest hunter in the world." Yuto smiled.

" Not with you still being alive." Atalanta retorted.

" HAHA. HAHAHHAHAHA!!!! That's really funny!!"

" I'm serious, you bastard!!!" Atalanta tried to kick Yuto, who easily dodged.

" Well, you just have to work harder." Yuto calmly stated ah he looked back into Atalantas' cold eyes.

" Of course." Atalanta coldly responded.

They both managed to get the boars to the butcher shop, and they showed the butcher their poster notice.

They managed to get their payment.

" Wow, what should we do with this?" Yuto spoke as he held a pouch of gold coins.

And just as he was walking forwards he stopped when he noticed Atalanta looking at an apple pie.

" Sigh, do you want to buy that?" Yuto questioned.

Atalanta didn't respond, but Yuto could see her eyes shining.

" Sigh, it's your money. Actually, you know I'm going to buy one as well."

Atalanta went into the shop first, followed by Yuto.

A few minutes later, they were both sitting on a tower. Each eating their pie.

" Munch Munch, this shit must've been blessed by the goddess of food herself. Munch Munch." Yuto spoke as he took another bite.

Atalanta nodded as she was stuffing her face.

They both watched as the sun set, enjoying the food and their company.

It was nighttime, and Atalanta was sleeping close by the campfire as Yuto leaned on the tree as he sat down.

( Yuto Pov )

' Sigh, Gamer system and Gamers body isn't activated. It feels weird without the gamers' body. If I lose a limb, it won't respawn, I'll probably have to attach it back the ol' fashion way.'

I thought as I leaned my head back onto the tree, looking at the moon.

My mind kept turning to Artoria, Scathach, Nero, my parents, and everyone back home.

I looked down to Atalanta.

Closing my eyes, I meditated as I found it was the only way to calm down without gamers' mind.

' I'll need to watch my mental health while I'm here. And I need to grow stronger without relying on my stats.'

Feeling my mind become clear of all thoughts, I began to train in my mana and Chakra.

Only focusing on that, I begin to circulate them both through my body.

It was hard at first, but I managed to move them at the same time for 3 seconds.

'Phew. New Goal. Train in Chakra and mana manipulation and find new skills and usages for them.'

I thought as I began to train until dawn.
