Chapter 1

It was a brisk, clear morning in Ranchi, India. The sun had just begun its ascent over the horizon and the sky was a brilliant shade of blue.

As the town slowly began to awaken, a small street vendor had just opened his cart, offering his usual assortment of knick-knacks for sale. However, today he had a new and rather special customer.

Standing before him was one of the most respected and beloved figures in Indian cricket - Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The vendor had recognised him almost immediately, but felt too overwhelmed to quite comprehend what was happening. He stood there, barely daring to say a thing, as the ex-captain of the Indian National Cricket Team made his way to the cart.

But, as Dhoni got closer, the vendor gathered his courage and asked him how he could help. The former cricketer smiled, thanked him for his politeness and asked for a packet of his favourite Pan Bidi cigarettes.

The vendor nodded, quickly got the order ready and handed it over to the cricketer with a slight bow. Dhoni smiled, thanked him again and said his farewells.

The vendor was left in stunned silence as he watched Dhoni walking away. He couldn't believe it. It was just like any normal morning but, for him, it had suddenly become very special. He had just served one of his heroes. He had just served MS Dhoni.
