The Old Lady was too enthusiastic, wanting to give her several pieces of clothing. Zoe Bell declined, but Old Sir Hale just snorted, "What? Don't want them, or do you think they're beneath you?"
"Absolutely not, one piece of clothing is enough, having so many is too extravagant," Zoe Bell hurriedly explained.
"You think we can't afford it?"

"Or do you simply not like them? Saying they looked nice earlier was just to appease us?"
When Zoe Bell tried on the clothes, the Old Lady complimented her on looking beautiful, and she smiled along in agreement, not expecting Old Sir Hale to make an issue of it.
She had no choice but to accept them.
Old Sir Hale still discussed the matter with his spouse afterward.
"The girl doesn't want to owe us anything," the Old Lady analyzed. "After all, in the environment she grew up in, everything has its price, whether it's a meal or a piece of clothing."
