Chapter 28- Phantom in the night!

"I have an event to attend but wanted to give you this." He changes the subject of their conversation before handed over a brown envelope.

She opened it and found her new Identification ID, Driver's Licence, Birth Certificate and her Family Registry. All documents obtained in the encase envelope is her other identity, which is Lu Jia. Through this name, she can even reconnect with her mother's family here in Country X.

Thinking about it, the last time she saw her grandparents in mother side, she was the same age as Xu Li. The wasted time erased all her memories with them. Although there was still some remaining impression imprinted in her mind, she is interested to see how her grandparents are doing now.

As far as she knows, her mother's family are considered rich in Country X. The house they used to visit a couple of times was massive. Therefore it is reasonable to say that her grandparents are well off.

Please with the documents, she invited him to move closer and plant a gentle kiss on the unsuspected man's lips. Vera is full of gratitude for his hard work. Few minutes passed when the couple separated from each other's embrace.

Xu Long Wei prepared himself to leave but stop and said "I will be coming here when I get home. I plan to sleep next to you from now on" with those words, he left without looking back and not giving her a chance to reply.

Vera was still daze even though it has been a while since the man left her with those shameless words. She chuckled realizing the man's sneaky move. Like when they were young, Xu Long Wei is still the same. He is bold and shameless but never has the got to express it directly.

Aside from giving her father hell, it was her happiness to bait the aloof man into her trap of planned seduction. It took her ample of time since he was dense as a rock, but after she made her message clear that his only purpose in life is to be her future husband, he became more cooperative.

Though misunderstood as cold and ruthless, he is not a person to deny intimacy, especially to those he considered love one. Inside the most luxurious event hall owned by Xu Long Wei, a grand event is being hosted. Businessmen and women assembled in this event to open more connections for their businesses. It is crucial to show faces consistently and expands their circle through this kind of occasion. Even some prominent entertainment personalities are present in the party, hoping to garner attention from potential sponsors.

As always, all head turn when the door opened and a tall and well build man entered the hall. He is releasing an unapproachable aura that made others want to avoid him. Considered as the most powerful person in the room, everyone consciously wished to please the man. However, due to his unpredictable temperament, they tried to stay away and stay on the safe side.

The party entirely quieted down after Xu long Wei entered, but he didn't care about the people and proceeded to his assigned table. He hates this kind of function, but because it is necessary to put-on appearances from time to time, he is pressured to do so. The man never stops from furrowing his brow when looking around at the people trying their best to pretend and please each other. "Pathetic," he thought.

Times move on, but the man stays rooted to his seat, never attempting to start a conversation unless approached. With the same expression, he would answer back but never give pleasantries. After a few hours, he left early without anyone noticing.

If you ask the people inside the hall about their opinion on the man, they would say, he comes and goes like a phantom in the night. He will blind your eyes with his looks that would leave a mark through his mysterious gaze; however, at the end of the night, like a ghost, he will disappear without a trace.
