Chapter 33- Mother and Son Reunion (1)

The guest room, Jia Garden, Year 20XX

Xu Li remains in the guess room while he processes the entirety of the situation. With a depressed shoulder, he slumped his body on the sofa. He glances at the open window again to realize that he spent ample of times contemplating. He didn't notice that his father already left the building.

He decided to carry on with his mission and place the binocular between his eyes. This time, he is aware of what to do. At the least, familiarizing himself with the woman's appearance is essential. He wants to remember the woman's profile who stole his father's heart. With the binoculars in hand, Xu Li focuses his gaze on the woman seating on the bed intently.

After sensing that someone is watching her, Vera monitored the room facing hers. Not letting the spy knows that she noticed his unskilled undercover work, she casually walks towards the window to close the curtain. Upon witnessing a sudden movement of a shadow in the room opposite to hers, she concluded that her first suspicion was accurate.

However, considering that she is in Jia Garden and the guards surrounding the area are tight, she suspected that it's one of the household staff.

Inside the Guest room, however, the boy stood frozen after seeing the woman's countenance in the medical building. His body could not move from the shock he is experiencing. He felt like he was struck by lightning multiple times.

"Mom?" the boy mumbles with a trembling voice. With a shaking hand, he tried to check if the image he saw was real; however, the curtain obscures his vision. Frustrated, he threw the binoculars in the bed and started pacing the room.

It is his mother; he knows it. The woman in the medical room looks like his mom! "Is it possible that mommy comes back?" he asked in the silent room.

Various emotions are written all over his face, from frustration to complete joy. He smiled with an undisguised twinkle in his emerald's eyes. If what he saw is correct, his mother is finally back!

Xu Li's heart is beating so fast. The only woman he longs to see for many years is here, and only a few distances are separating them. He started pacing back and forth the empty room again. This is an unexpected turn of event, but it's undeniably the best outcome he could dream of.

What should he do now? He wants to see his mommy in person. But knowing his father, he must have a reason to hide his mother even from him.

The boy can't keep his feet from walking around the room restlessly. A few minutes later, his desire to see his mom won over his doubts. With a hurried footstep, he rushes out the room and moves toward the medical building.

However, before reaching the place, he noticed the number of guards safeguarding the area. It will be harder for him to enter without alerting the staffs patrolling around.

He scanned the building and spotted Elder Ling, who is busy pushing a huge laundry cart. An idea came up into his mind. He bolted to the older woman's direction and hid inside the cart when she was occupied. The small space is smaller for his size, but he doesn't mind squeezing himself in. He curled his body to fit his entire frame in the confined space. At the moment, the most important is to get to his mother, he thought.

A few minutes passed by, Xu Li is trying to endure the lack of oxygen inside the laundry cart and is almost prepared to give up when he felt the cart stop, he waited a little bit before peeking outside. Elder Ling is nowhere to be seen, so he sneakily moves out. Not planning to waste any more time, he surveyed his location.

This should be the laundry room. He needs to get to the second floor. His mother's room is facing the mansion; at least he can follow the mansion's direction to know her mother's location.

With a hurried foot, he moves out the room and goes directly to the upper floor. He was careful not to be noticed by the guards lurking around.

After a while, he stops in front of the white door on his left. On the right side of the wall attached a name that indicated the patient inside. "Lu Jia" he reads, he knows for a fact that in the hospital, they have this for every patient. It seems that his father modeled the building exactly like the hospital.

Lu Jia is his mother's name, so he is sure that this is precisely the room he is after. He became more nervous, knowing that his mom is just on the other side of the door. He swallowed his saliva and blew a deep breath he is unconsciously holding. Excited and anxious, he gathered all the courage to knock on the door softly…
