Chapter 23- Is daddy marrying?

Xu Li was just about to knock on the door when he notices that it was left open. He peeks inside to

check if his father is inside. His dad is talking on the phone, which is new for him. He never saw his father used the device in his entire life!

He observes some more and tries to listen to his conversation.

It seems that his dad is talking to a woman, and what surprises Xu Li is his father's way of speaking. He looks so relax. He even smiles from time to time. What is going on? He thought to himself. He became more suspicious as he continues to listen.

"Do you need me to go there? I could arrange some stuff for you if you needed anything." His father said.

"I see, just let me know if you need anything. Alright, I will see you soon" the call ended, and his dad went back to work. The man didn't notice the open door.

Xu Li move away from the door as soon as his father finishes the call. His body is trembling, and his eyes become teary. Based on his father's conversation, he likes the caller a lot. He knows this because his father speaks softly to the woman on the phone. He never does that unless he is talking to him.

"Does it mean, he is going to have another mommy?" Xu Li's heart cannot control the tears that

fall on his eyes anymore. He wanted to cry. Since he was small, his dad always says to him that he will always have one mommy. No matter what other people say. He said, his mommy will come back, and she really loves him. But today, it seems that his dad will marry another woman!

Xu Li forgot his purpose to see his father and run back to his room. He stayed inside the whole afternoon and never tried to go out.

The staffs are worried about their young master. He never acted like this, they tried to coax him to play outside, but he never responded. They didn't have a choice but to inform their master about the situation.

Xu Li is not aware of what is happening outside, and with a firm resolve decided to ask his father

directly. However, on his way to the study, he stops when he saw that some staffs are having a conversation in front of the study room. It looks like they are arguing who will be the one to knock on the door.

Not wanting to wait for them, he started to approach them when one of the staff's words stop his footsteps.

" Do you think the young master is upset because our master brought a young mistress in the

house?" A younger staff ask others.

Xu Li abruptly stop and intently listen to their conversation. He held his breath to conceal his present.

"I think he, knows that the mistress is in the medical building. Otherwise, why would he suddenly

close himself in the room?" another staff added.

"That's right. I think the headmaster is going to marry the woman in the medical building. He addresses her as our mistress and even Butler Yang has to treat her like one." Other younger staff said. Her voice has a hint of envy.

" I think she is not a good woman based on how she wants to be secretive. She doesn't even want us to care for her even though she is sick!" She added. It is apparent that she has a strong dislike for the woman and is trying to implant ideas to other staff.

However, an older staff prevent the others from voicing out their own opinion further. She told them to stop gossiping and go back to their job after assuring them that she will talk to the master personally.

Xu Li, left the place before other staff see him listening to their conversation. He has a lot of thingsin his mind. A the moment, he is sure on one thing. His father has a woman in the house, and he wants to marry her. He wonders if it was the same person his father was talking on thephone. The heaviness in his hard doubled. He took out his mother's photo on his neck. He can't help but cry again, at the moment, he longs for his mother to come back.
