The room was silent after Xu Long Wei finishes recalling his past. Jia tucked her covers tightly as she hides the tears that she can't seem to control. Never in her naïve mind expected for him to have suffered tremendously under his family. All these years, Xu family betrayed, abandoned and neglected him, but the man still works his earnest to this shameful clan thrives.

Jia greeted her teeth in anger, she holds Xu Long Wei's hand and offers some comfort. "Darling, you have worked hard. From now on, I will be here for you." She said as she clasps her hand with him.

Xu Long Wei' didn't respond; instead, he looks at her for a while and smile. Jia couldn't read what is in his mind since he blocks his expression from her. "Long Wei, if you are not master Xu's son, how come you got the position of the family head?" She was curious about this since, from his story, he was already denounced by Xu Family before he lives in Country A.

"When I was in the military, I got a letter from the family's attorney stating that my grandfather passed away, in the letter, I was requested to attend the funeral. Since I was stationed close by, I decided to visit the Xu family. Later, I found out that even before the accident, my grandfather has already made his last will. From the document he left behind, it says that in case he and my father died, I will be the sole beneficiary of all the Xu family's wealth. Including the stocks and properties tied to my position as the heir of the family."

"At first, I was surprised to learn what's in the document and plan to reject it. However, the reaction of the elders and my uncle made me change my mind. They attempted to tarnish my mother's name again, and it sets something in me at that point. In order to irritate them, I agreed to accept the will. I didn't expect that I will use it when I returned to Country A and found you are missing. Since no one in your family knows about my background, I used the Xu family to cover my track and started building my power here, hoping you will come back."

Jia was touched after hearing him say the last part. Like him, she is glad that his life works out well when she was away. At least, she has a place she could return to after her captivity.

"From time to time, they would organize something against me, but since I have the government backing me, they could not do enough damage. I tried to follow your father's way of collaborative business to protect government officials and their family. My security and military aid with them are outside Xu Holdings, so my family are unaware of this."

"I see, your plan is brilliant. Although I still find it crazy that you always follow my father." She snorted unattractively.

Xu Long Wei flick her noise, cheekily, "Your father's way is excellent!"

"Huh, for you, he is. Anyway, I am glad to know where I stand in your family for now. With this information, I would know how to behave in front of them. In two weeks, the ball will start rolling, and my place in the family will finally reveal to everyone. I am hoping they will know their place and won't start anything with me first. Otherwise, I might start my rampage earlier than one year." She said before returning to her sleeping position.

"Let's sleep now love, I am tired today, and I have more things to do with my soldier tomorrow." Jia yawned and closed her eyes. A few seconds later, she felt Xu Long Wei's long finger hugging her waist and moves her body closer to him.

"Sweet dreams my love and thank you for coming into my life." He whispered and kissed the tip of her ears.

"I love you, Long Wei, and thank you for waiting always," Jia replied and smiled contentedly. The couple sleeps peacefully that morning, and they continued sleeping until noon.
