Phoenix, like sleeping in, Ashton embraced. Her sleep would be peaceful, with no disturbing nightmares. Ashton's masculine scent was giving her the peacefulness that she sought after years since she left the wretched life of her past.
The next morning, she woke up when she didn't feel Ashton's presence beside her. Waking up in confusion, she wondered if she had dreamed that Ashton had come to City D yesterday.
Phoenix was sure that she wasn't dreaming. She looked around the hotel room for Ashton, but he was nowhere to be seen.
She picked up her phone and wanted to call Ashton when the door opened, and Ashton walked in.
"Where were you?" Phoenix asked, relieved.
Ashton smiled broadly, "Were you looking for me?" he asked, delighted.
"Yes, I am," Phoenix said, pouting unhappily.
"I'm sorry. I forgot to leave a note before I went out," Ashton said, kissing Phoenix's forehead.
