The doctor stared at her spitefully. He had never been approached in the office by a woman with so much courage like that.
"What is the meaning of all this, madam?" He asked impatiently.
"I'm offering you a cheque of five million if you would let me have the results before her, and that's not all; if it turns out to be what I'm expecting, I'll give you an additional 3 million if you would corporate with me." She explained as she confidently relaxed her back on the four-wheel chair in the office.
"I'm not taking your money. My reputation and license are worth more than that!" He declared.
"7 million for now and 5 million if it turns out what I expected," Mrs. Vans added.
Hearing this, the doctor was stunned and remained silent for a few moments before he finally spoke.
"Madam, why are you doing this?I mean, why are you so desperate to get the results before her?
"Leave that one to me, doctor. I have my reasons. So are you in or not?"
The doctor remained mute as he thought over the big offer.
"Brian, this offer is too huge for you to reject!" A voice in him whispered.
"I'll only do that on one condition," he said.
This statement brightened Mrs. Vans face with smiles. "I know you won't turn my offer down," she said in her old but thin and twisted feminine voice.
"You don't call my name if anything should go wrong with this woman in later days. You and I never had a deal!" He warned sternly.
Raising her two hands in surrender, she responded, "Deal!"
Instantly, she brought out another check and penned down his details.
Doctor Brian wasted no time to pick up the telephone on his table and put a call across the laboratory scientists.
"I need the result of the patient in ward 121 in my office now!" He said said and hugged up the call.
"Good job!" Mrs. Vans commented and smiled as she waited patiently for the arrival of the results.
"Here, this is the result, doctor." The lab scientists handed the file to him as soon as he knocked and entered the office.
After having a glance at the paper, he handed it over to Mrs. Vans.
"Take it; I hope you see what you want from the results."
"Gosh! I knew it!" Mrs. Vans said and hit the hard with her fist as she glanced at the test result.
"Hey, please, you must not raise your voice. This is an office," the doctor said.
"I know that this can't be the symptom of a sickness!" Mrs. Vans said slowly, her heart beating faster than usual.
"We need to ask fast, doctor. She can't have this baby in my house! Doctor, she must not know that she's pregnant, because all my plans would fail." She exclaimed in a low tone.
"So what do you want me to do now?" The doctor asked.
"I need you to change the result." Mrs. Vans declared.
"What? Did you just hear yourself talk? How do you expect me to do that?"
"Ooo.. com'on doctor. This is your field, and you should know better than me! There's nothing hard there; just write the name of one illness there, maybe hepatitis or just something. But she must never know that she's pregnant for now!"
The doctor was stunned at the kind of evil plan Mrs. Vans was having against the innocent woman. He shook his head. "Madam, what you're asking me is too much!
"That's why I'm paying you handsomely!" She answered reluctantly.
.
"Fine. Consider it done," the doctor assured.
