a sharp punishment

My story isn't a fairytale. I am a 24-year-old waitress. As well as a part-time author. I got my heart broken one too many times and so my best friend is my fuck buddy basically. It's the easiest way to put it. I work at a club called the escape.

 The Escape

We had a few hours before opening and the owner is showing up tonight. I'm worried.

"I never said i'd do this. But I know there is a first time for everything."

" But I can't pretend anymore. You need to know that I have grown to care for you. Deeply. You deserve to know."

"I was made to love you. But I cannot bear to be apart from you anymore."

" For years I have yearned for you. In secrecy and silence. Wanting to take away the pain they have caused you."

"I dream, of you. At times it's all I do. Just please listen to me with this."

"Are you really so oblivious to it?"

My head hung low, " There isn't anything that I wouldn't do for you. But please listen, this could be a big opportunity for me. I can have a fresh start."

"I know and I love the idea. But also- if you were to go, it wouldn't mean I wouldn't see you again."

"I can't ask you to come with me. You have the club here and in life. But I need a new page in my story. One where im the hero and not the villain. Not the monster they made me out to be."

He wrapped his arms around me and tears ran down my face.

"I have to go im sorry. Who knows maybe one day fate will bring us together."

I could hear his voice break with mine. " I never got to say I love you to pieces."
