"Nothing, you can go now. Ahh, call my secretary".

She bowed a little and left.

When my secretary came in, I could tell that she was still scared. It was extremely visible.

"Show her to the personal assistants' office".

"Yes, ma'am".

When I noticed she was still there, I raised my head to look at her.

"Well...what are you waiting for?"

"My apologies ma'am".

She said and left.

I couldn't stop thinking about that man. Why did he keep coming, what did he want?

Those were the questions that kept flooding my head.

While I was still thinking about everything that was happening to me, I heard a knock on the door.

"Boss, I think you need to see this".

I went out of my office and I saw so many men in black suits looking like bodyguards, standing on my office floor. I went closer to confirm what it was that they wanted.

"Can I help you?"

But none of them answered which made me feel a little bit irritated. When I was about to ask them to leave, they began parting ways and I saw a man who was also in a black suit but didn't look like a bodyguard.

When he came close, the men behind went back to their former position.

"And you are?"

"Someone you owe".

I was getting bored and a little bit irritated. I hated it when people wasted my time.

"What's with the over-exaggerated entrance?"

He looked at me with a brow raised and I continued.

"If you were going to talk on your own you should have been here from the beginning. Yet, you let me talk to people who don't have it in them to speak".

"I'm not here to listen to you nag".

"Then you'll have to speak to my assistant instead".

I said and turned around to go back to my office.

"Forty million dollars".

I stopped but didn't turn around.

"That's how much your brother owes me".

'Of course, if there was anyone who would let thugs piss me off so early in the morning, it would definitely be that disgrace'.

I turned back elegantly as always and told him straight to his face.

"I don't have a brother".

I walked a bit closer.

"If you've been scammed, look for the person who rubbed you off your money and stop wasting my time".

"Are you trying to play games with me, Miss Cleo Skye?"

"Do I look like I have the time or patience for any of that?"

He looked at me intensely as did I.

"If you are done embarrassing yourself, you should leave".

When I was about to turn back, he held my hand and drew me closer to him. Due to the impact, I fell on his chest but immediately adjusted myself.

"I think you are mistaken, I'm not here to embarrass myself, I'm here to get my money and you....will give it to me".

I smirked

"You must be pretty stupid to think your threats will actually work on me".

I freed my hand from his grip and stood properly.

"I know nothing about a forty million dollars and in case you haven't heard, I just woke up from a coma".

"That's none of my business".

"Then leave because your money is none of my business either"

"Where is your brother?"

"I don't have any".

I went back to my office not caring about anything he said to me. But for some reason, he looked like he had some very similar features to the man from earlier today, but he looked a lot more elegant.

"They left ma'am".

I nodded and she left. I kept going through documents and signing the ones that needed signing. I didn't notice it was already evening.

Being away for a while definitely gave me a lot of jobs to come back to.

Just when I was about to continue, Summer knocked and walked in.

"It's time for you to go home ma'am. You have a lot of meetings to attend tomorrow".

I looked and her and nodded. Letting her know that I'd be done soon.

When we got home, Summer wanted to help me get ready for bed but I declined.

"I can do it myself".

I got into my bed and closed my eyes.

"What a way to start your job again huh?"

That voice made me open my eyes immediately.

"You, why are you here?"

"Why did you chase him away?"

I looked at her a bit confused. She came to the bed and sat down which made me sit up as well.

"The man you met yesterday and this morning, why did you chase him away".

"Why shouldn't I? Who is he?"

"He is a god, a very powerful one at that. His name is Lord Xavier and he is your betrothed".

I began laughing.

"I sure am engaged to a lot of people. First it was whoever Summer spoke about earlier and now this person? Too bad, I'm not interested in getting married".

"You don't have a choice my lady. He is the only one for you, he is your strength, your lord and your weakness".

The last sentence definitely found its way to irritate me.

"That's it, I want to sleep".

I laid down and closed my eyes ignoring her completely.

The next morning, when I got downstairs ready to go to the office, I saw my mom and brother at the dining table.

"Hey hunny, join us".

I wanted to ignore them but for some reason, I kept considering this woman's feelings.

I sat at the dining table and was served.

"So, how was your first day back in the office?"

I ignored her question and asked mine.

"Am I engaged?"

She looked at me and sighed.

"It was canceled darling. He didn't want to marry you after hearing you might not be stable after the accident".

"Good, I don't want any more engagements".

"But darling, you were the one who told me you wanted to marry him".

I raised my head and looked at her and that gave her the cue to continue.

"You were in love with him".

I opened my eyes widely but then, I heard Miguel laugh.

"What's funny?"

"You actually fell in love?"

"You actually duped someone of forty million dollars?"

He kept quiet and kept looking at me. And mother obviously didn't know what to say.

"Who is he? A thug? What is his name?"

"Please help me just this once, I'll pay you back. I know I will".

"How? You are completely useless".

Miguel folded his hand in a fist but still begged.

"Please help me".

I could see the fear in his eyes.

"Who is he? Why are you this scared?"

"Jason Williams".
