Chapter 62

Alicia and Jasper stood ready as Alicia started had glimpses of her past as she was the daughter of a cartel leader. She helped her father gain status among other cartel gangs as she was merciless, killing all who stood against her family. But she had no choice as she had a curse mark on his neck as it forced her to obey her father. She remember the days her mother was still alive as she was the one who place it on her. Alicia remembered her face as she was sadden and regretful, which made Alicia hate her father. But one day, they were attack as Jorge lead the attack with other hunters on their mansion. Alicia was with her father as she guarded him, but Enrique bolted in knocked out as she soon woke up in San Teresa. She tried taking the nurse hostage, but she was prepared for her. We then see her tired up with the nurse waiting by as Jorge came to talk to her, while Enrique walked in as well.

"Alicia, am I correct? I'm here to tell you that your family's cartel is no longer in power. And that your father…is dead." Said Jorge.

"So what? Why should I care? What's going to happen to me?" Alicia asked.

"Enrique…" Said Jorge as he stepped to the side.

"You have talent. Talent that can be used to help others, rather than hurt others. And based on your response. You have nothing left, right?" Enrique responded.

Alicia was silent, until Jorge freed her as Enrique held his hand to her to help her up.

"How about you become a hunter?" Enrique asked.

Alicia glared at him as it would later on she soon became a student at San Teresa. She would tried to leave once in a while as many feared her and her abilities, but Enrique stopped her as they would constantly fight. But time would go by as Jorge had pinned Alicia to the wall as she struggled to free herself.

"Let me go!" Alicia yelled.

"No! I can't let you go!" Said Enrique.

"Why!? Why are you and your brother treating me this way! I am a bruja. You've seen how other students and people look at me! Why can't you leave me alone!" Alicia yelled.

"Because I can't, okay!" Said Enrique loudly.

He startled her with his voice as Enrique let go of her as Alicia didn't move.

"Me and my brother were child soldiers, raised to be killing machines. My brother was meant for it, while wasn't. But helped me by giving up so much. I watched as other kids die because they couldn't handle it. Kids who could have lived. I could've been one of them. So when I see someone like you, I want to help. I don't see what you are. I see you, Alicia. But if you want to go, then go. That's your choice." Said Enrique as he walked away.

Alicia was quiet for a long second, contemplating about leaving as she looked at the school's exit. But we see her walk alongside Enrique as he glanced at her. He had a faint smile as time passed as Alicia held her head high and avoided looking at him.

"I'm not staying for you. I just don't wish to be in debated to you." Said Alicia.

"I don't see why you feel like you do. But whatever it take to have you at my side." Said Enrique.

Alicia blushed as they spent a lot of time together as she grew to have feelings for Enrique.

"I have to win." Said Alicia in her mind, fading back to the present.

"Fight!" Merlin shouted.

Alicia then fired multiple homing magic blast at Jasper as he turned ghost as he floated away from the blast, while countering the blasts with his ectoplasm blasts. He then flew into the ground as Alicia couldn't see him. She looked around as Jasper appeared out of the ground from her back as he had an ectoplasm blast ready. But Alicia smirked as she aimed her hand at him as Jasper fired at point blank. Jasper was knocked back as he saw that she had made a barrier around her as Jasper kept his distances, while Violet was standing and yelling.

"How the hell is she able to do that? First that crazy chick that attacked him and this girl!?" Said Violet.

"Scarlet?" Said Marcus.

"It's definitely dark magic. But she can also use normal magic as well. She must be very skill at different magical arts." Said Scarlet.

"No way!" Said Garry.

"So be honest, does Jasper stand a chance?" Franklin asked.

"I don't know. Since we don't the extend of her magic knowledge." Said Scarlet.

Alicia had fired more blast at Jasper as he did his best to dodge and counter them with his ectoplasm blast. Until he got hit multiple times from her blast. Alicia then made a scythe with her magic and flew towards Jasper. She swung at him, but Jasper phased through the floor as she missed him.

"She has a freaking scythe!" Garry shouted.

Jasper jumped out of the ground as he was in the air as Alicia hurled her scythe at him. Jasper fire an ectoplasm blast and made it exploded close to him, forcing him to land on the ground quickly. Alicia made her scythe return to her as Jasper took in a deep breath and exhaled.

"I hate using this power." Said Jasper.

Jasper's eyes glowed as his ghost form emitted out energy as his entire body was ectoplasm energy, looking more ghostly.

"Don't tell me he's using it!" Said Franklin.

"He's going super ghost!" Said Garry.

Alicia made her scythe fly towards Jasper as he clenched his hands as the arena floor cracked open. The scythe drew near as he crossed his arms as rubbles of the floor shielded him, while everyone watched in awe. Her scythe crashed into rubble and bounced off as Jasper made the rubble fly towards her. Alicia put up her barrier as the rubble crashed into her, covering every angle as they slowly crushed her barrier. Alicia held out both of her hands to keep the barrier up as she struggling.

"Uh, should we do something? He doesn't have good control of that form." Said Violet.

"No, he's got this. There's a reason why we all trained." Said Marcus as the round only had minutes left.

Jasper kept on making the rubble crush her barrier as Alicia's yelled out, making her magic burst outwards. It destroyed the rubble as she grabbed her scythe and bolted to Jasper and started swinging at him with all she had.

"I have to win! I have to win! I have to win!" Alicia yelled in her mind.

But her slices missed as Jasper was like smoke, until readied a blast. He aimed at Alicia, but the horn went off as they both stopped. Jasper reverted back to normal as Alicia was angry at herself. Jasper was about to shake her hand, but Alicia walked off as Jasper watched her leave. She was upset as Jasper's right hand was shaking as he touched it with his left to calm down. His eyes were glowing, but he closed them as he controlled it and focused. He walked back to the others as Merlin clone quickly fixed the arena.

"Neither team win the match! Both team points remain the same!" Said Merlin.

"Hey, Jasper? Are you alright?" Scarlet asked.

"Yeah, you good?" Marcus asked.

"I just need my music." Said Jasper.

He walked past everyone and put on his headphones and quickly played music. It was calming him, while everyone still looked concerned.

"On to the next match! Team Salem, what is your pick?" Merlin asked.

"Marcus, that's you." Said Violet.

"Yeah, I know. But we need to beat north Winchester. North Winchester, against a member!" Said Marcus.

The screen showed Team North Winchester's team's pictures as it spun around as it stopped on Faye Morgan, while she stepped up to the arena.

"Magic, huh? I think it's my turn." Said Scarlet as she stepped up to the arena.

"You go girl!" Said Violet.

"Good luck." Said Iris.

Faye and Scarlet made it to the middle as Faye summoned two magical books, while they floated at her side. Scarlet took out her staff and wand as they both stood ready.

"Scarlet, I'm glad I'm facing someone skill in the magical arts. Though, you are odd as Patricia." Said Faye.

"That's who I am, I guess. But let's have good fight. You don't fight hand to hand, right?" Scarlet asked.

"I don't need to. My magic is enough." Said Faye.

"No foul play. Let this be a fair fight, understood?" Said Merlin.

"Right!" Said Scarlet.

"Of course." Said Faye.

"Alright…FIGHT!" Merlin shouted.

Faye smirked as multiple magical orbs appeared over her and immediately fired at Scarlet. But Scarlet's staff protected her as it already had a magical barrier ready.

"That was sneaky of you." Said Scarlet.

"I am trying to win after all." Said Faye.

Faye then made magic spear as it hurled itself to Scarlet and hit her barrier and making it crack open and shatter into pieces. Scarlet was surprised, until one of Faye's orb turned into lightning and bolted at her. The lightning bolt hit her dead on, until Scarlet turned into magic fragments as Faye was caught off guard. But she quickly looked up as Scarlet was sitting on her witch's broom, while just finishing conjuring a spell. A large magic circle was above Scarlet as everyone was amazed.

"Now strike down! Vanir Spear!" Scarlet shouted.

Scarlet fired down a large pillar like beam down on Faye as she quickly made a barrier to protect her. It hit her in one instant as a strong wind blew only in the arena as Merlin's barrier protected everyone in the arena. We then see the dust clear up as Scarlet stood ready with her wand and her staff floating next to her. We then see Faye panting heavily as her barrier was still up, but flicking on and off. Faye's spell book turned to page of book as her magic changed to white as spears of light rained down on Scarlet. Scarlet summoned her broom and flew around, barely avoiding the spears as they were very fast. Scarlet flew towards Faye and fired a large fire ball at her. Faye used wind magic and blew the fire away, while holding out an orb of light. It flash, blinding Scarlet as Faye made the ground right under Scarlet, rise up and hitting her. Scarlet fell to the ground and rolled across the arena as Faye's book turned to another page as she made large vines sprout out of the ground as they all moved to attack Scarlet. Isaac was watching the fight from his phone as we see a quick glimpse them in the lair training. Scarlet and Isaac were in front of each other as Scarlet had her staff in her hand.

"Do I really have to learn this, Isaac? My magic skills are enough to take on anyone." Said Scarlet.

"Yeah, but magic depends on casting time, right? What if your mind isn't fast enough, but your body is?" Isaac asked.

"Well, you do have a point." Said Scarlet.

"I'm teaching you this because you lack in close hand combat. But I think I know the perfect thing to teach you." Said Isaac.

The vines got closer as Scarlet gripped her staff, enhance with magic and swung it around. The swing knocked the vines back as they broke into two. Faye was surprised as we see Scarlet holding her staff as a weapon. Scarlet then bolted towards as the gang were surprised.

"That's my girl! WHOO!" Violet shouted.

"It crazy that those who use magic, don't know how to fight without their magic. Good thing Isaac taught her how." Said Marcus.

Faye then fired more spears of light and shot them at Scarlet. Scarlet then started teleporting around the arena at random as Faye was trying to get a lock on her. Until Scarlet appeared right behind Faye with her staff held back ready to swing.

"Faye!" Patricia shouted.

Faye could only turn her eyes to Scarlet as she swung her staff right into her face. Faye was knocked back as she and her books landed on the ground. Faye was down, but not unconscious as Scarlet pointed her staff at her. Faye held her hands up as the horn went off as Scarlet jumped for joy as the gang were happy.

"Salem wins this round!"

Students of Salem cheered as North Winchester were silent. Chase was angry as the screen gave Salem their point as Salem had 16 points and North Winchester 17 points.
