Jiu-jitsu belts weren't easy to earn. Having a purple belt meant James had been practicing jiu-jitsu for a long time.

However, Angela had been learning jiu-jitsu since she could walk, and from Thomson Jin, a Mundial champion, no less. There was a significant difference in their experience and background.

Angela's average weight was 61kg.

James's average weight was 77kg.

Judging by weight alone, James should have had an overwhelming advantage. In fact, James was dominant in standing situations when it came to taking down the opponent. Angela tried to respond but couldn't withstand James's strength and technique.

However, it was different on the ground. Even though this wasn't a jiu-jitsu sparring match with gis, Angela managed to transition from a lower position to a top position in less than two minutes. She had used James's strength against him.
