Damn. Why did Ethan ask about that now? Mandy thought Ethan had forgotten about it.
"Li—like I said before," Mandy rolled her eyes to the side, avoiding Ethan's gaze. "I slapped you."
"No, you're not," denied Ethan. "Didn't the illusion demon say that we shouldn't hurt each other? If you did slap me, we can't possibly make it."
Ethan had a sharp mind and that was really annoying.
Mandy racked her brains, searching for a reasonable answer, and finally all she could say was, "We couldn't, right? Because we almost got killed by those creatures!"
"I told you they showed up because we broke the rules there, not because we failed that stupid game!"
"I don't know! Stop pushing me, would you?!"
Ethan didn't just give up. He pressed Mandy until she had no room to move. Her body pressed against the wall. Mandy gasped as her waist hit the edge of the nightstand. Mr. Crown's soul stood like a statue next to her.
