Partial Monsterification

Putting my sword back into my inventory, I stared in satisfaction at everything that was right in front of me.

After killing the three bosses with lots of effort, I finally was able to reap the results of my actions.

And I must say, it was rather nice.

Staring at the three bags now sitting peacefully in my inventory, despite the immense pain in my left and right arms I couldn't stop smiling.

I really like this.

And I even got more material to make the shadow set from the eater of worlds.

Alongside the blade called Murasma from the overlord of the seas, may she never have rest in pieces, I don't know what may take the smile off of my face anymore.

Admiring the blue bladed katana that had higher damage stats than most of the dead cells weapons and was much stronger than lights bane.

But besides that, it was an all around normal blade.

One that could also withstand the spatial cutter that is.

Unable to wipe the smile off of my face, Celestia slowly made her way to me sweat dripping off of her head.

"I see you are pleased?"

"Pleased is an understatement" Staring at her, a tingle in my mind was telling me that she was going to tell me something.

And I wasn't wrong, as it made me aware of one very important thing.

"Is your body okay? No hu- body should be able to function normally if it looks like." She waved at me "This..."

And I think I heard something wrong with her sentence but I'll ignore it in favor of actually paying attention to my body.

And hot damn was I surprised.

Replacing normal skin were patches of grey that were anything but human.

Bringing my hand to my face, I was surprised that my human skin was partially transformed into... porcelain skin?

Tapping it, I was surprised to receive any sensory feed back at all as I distinctly felt my skin felt like porcelain but I could still sense my finger.

It was confusing, but my skin now felt like porcelain while retaining the functions of skin.

Looking at the rest of my body, it was mostly lots of the same thing albeit I was surprised when my elbow appeared to be like joints.

Moving it, I know felt my flexibility reach new heights as the puppet jointed arm could go in almost all directions.

Watching it spin like a helicopter, the look on Celestia's face was... interesting.

But I guess mine wasn't that much different huh?

But the reason for her surprise wasn't the same as surprise that I thought.

She wasn't actually surprise that I was spinning an arm like a helicopter.

She was instead surprised about another fact.

---

'A homunculus? Wasn't the last of their kind destroyed in the great war?'

Staring at the man who was also surprised at their porcelain skin yet at the same time amused at it, she felt a conflict rise from the depths of her heart.

Since it was revealed that the boy might've been the remains of an ancient warrior of times past, she felt the need to enlist him into her cause.

As one of the ancient souls that agreed to be put into an unfeeling body of steel it only made sense no?

But then again, the soul she was looking at right now didn't carry the gravitas and aged aura of a veteran like she had expected.

If anything it felt like the man she was looking at right now was nothing more than a child.

It was as if his memory had been wiped and a new personality had arisen.

So stuck between making the new soul work with her to thwart the Moon Gods plans and letting the new soul not get involved with her.

She soon came to the conclusion.

'...I should keep an eye on him.'

Having those thoughts, plants, roots and vines intertwined into the vague shape of a blade underneath the ground tussling against each other as they sharpened the blade.

Tapping her bare foot against the ground, the pure natural energy of a dryad snaked into the vaguely blade shape plant and imbued it with natural power.

'For now, he shall need this.'

Staring at the child like man spinning his arm around like a wheel, she coughed quietly causing him to look at her.

"Yes? What is it?"

Slightly flustered for reasons that she didn't know, she calmly bent down and touched the ground.

"Thank you kind warrior for protecting me and taking me away from the jaws of that beast."

"Oh you don't need to bow to me to thank me"

Hurriedly trying to stop her, Celestia shrugged off his grip as her hand sunk into the ground and pulled on the shaft of the blade.

Pulling it out, a green blade made out of plants appeared out of the ground with plant like highlights and veins travelling across its entirety.

It was as if a strange plant had suddenly decided to grow in this sort of unique shape.

Pulling the blade out, the handle made out of intertwined roots comfortably rested in her hands as the lightweight blade her size was held aloft.

With razor sharp leaf like edges, the vine like wrist guard protected her hands as she lightly pointed the blade to the side and held it horizontally to the man who's name she didn't know yet.

---

Staring at the blade, I was nothing more than surprised at the appearance of the blade that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Well not out of nowhere as I distinctly saw Celestia bringing it out of the ground, but it was still rather abrupt with how sudden that it had appeared.

It was most probably summoned as well since it just didn't make sense to have buried a blade directly underneath where I was standing.

But if it was then it was a rather strange coincedence.

But nevertheless.

Having turned off my special eyes that drew several paths for me all the while providing me the power to see both the mana and the malaise in the air, I didn't know if it was summoned.

But did it matter?

"Please take the blade unknown warrior."

"Didn't I tell you my name is Slade?

[Blade of Grass]

Staring at the blade, it was surprisingly light weight despite its looks.

Well as light weight as roots, leaves and vines could be I guess.

But it was exactly because of that I didn't exactly trust the blades durability as it was as I said, made entirely out of plant life.

None of the fantasy metals like I had thought that the blade would've been.

And now there might be plant based materials that were incredibly durable, from prior knowledge of mages shoved into my head.

Wood with incredible durability was most likely going to be incredibly... magic conductive?

Whatever the word is.

That and the fact that I didn't trust weapons made out of plants to be... useful at all in combat.

And perhaps, she sensed my doubt because she quickly spoke up.

"You don't trust the weapon I gave you yes?"

And maybe I was imagining it, but I felt as if she felt slightly pouty at my doubt.

"Well no worries." Golden eyes dragging across my face and pointing at a stone outcropping lifted up from the ground my brown vines, she spoke.

"Why don't you test the blade of grass on that boulder right there? That should alleviate your doubts."

"Well Ok, but I doubt it'll do much." Voicing my doubts, I slowly made my way forwards and loosened my taut muscles with quick motions.

Feeling my left arm be much more limber than before, as if my joints have been oiled with... oil, I held the blade of grass in my hands.

Wooden shaft in my hands, I lifted both arms above my head, and with doubts still unvoiced within my mind, I swung the blade.

And unlike what I had thought, the blade instead of crumpling up like leaves against the rock, the rock instead was the one that crumpled up.

Well split up really, but I was surprised nonethless.

With incredible sharpness, the blade of grass slid right through the rock like a hot knife through butter.

The cut it ad made was so smooth that it was as if someone had sliced the boulder up like cake and left a large gash on the side of it.

Falling to the ground, I dumbfoundedly watched the giant boulder the size of me fall onto the ground with a thud, the only markers of the blade being left behind being the incredibly smooth surface reflecting the sun.

Looking at Celestia, she had a somehwat smug look on her face before quickly wiping it off when she saw I was looking at her.

Coughing into the palm of her hands, she recovered her solemn appearance and spoke.

"So what do you think about the blade of grass now Slade?"

"Well..."

I stared at the leaf like blade in my hands.

"I think its pretty good."
