Leaving the Cave (2)

Holding a torch lit alight with slime gel I followed the three women leading me upwards.

Silently eyeing the cave walls I placed the torch onto a wall.

"It seems you are confident that the Torch God blessed you" Skeptically asking me that honestly logical question Amanda raised an eyebrow.

"What is the torch God?"

Amanda shrugged her shoulders and twirled her daggers not even surprised anymore at that point.

"Well, its just some sort of deity that many pray to because it is seen as the brother of the Sun God and blesses your flames to burn eternally."

"So by that you mean the torches blessed by the Torch God will never burn out? Neat."

"On that note, can you fight me again later? I would like to see how much better you can now fight."

Hearing her words, I recalled the time we fought.

Starting as a simple spar that I thought I didn't need to take seriously, the woman used moves that I never even thought of using.

And although I won that time, I was definitely humbled that day.

Apparently skill in fighting monsters didn't translate to actual skill and instead was viewed as experience.

Humbling nonetheless since I barely scraped a win despite viewing myself as a chosen warrior of sorts.

But from what she had said.

What I was doing was textbook perfect while being entirely attuned to my body as it was both the same as everyone else's yet different.

The benefit that I learnt from Amanda while sticking to my basic, textbook examples was combos.

By chaining attacks with certain movements and changing others, I could continue attacks without problem.

I could theoretically tear apart the enemies with great ease if I didn't take a hit.

Which reminded me of the kill chain that the Beheaded formed when he killed his enemies without taking damage in the slightest.

But that would be left to theory, because without a perfect state of mind that could allow zero mistakes alongside an entire army of enemies.

I couldn't even try.

"Slade"

"Yes?" Turning to face Katrina who in all honesty I was incredibly close to by now.

Literally and physically.

"Later, when we return to the surface, can I strap you to a operating table and look at your body?"

Blinking at that incredibly odd request even for the already odd woman, I hesitantly replied. "Why?"

"Well, I want to compare your body to the average humans, and to do that we need more... technical equipment" she frowned at those last two words.

That smile quickly turned upside down however as she brightly grinned at my face.

"But it shouldn't be a problem as it won't be harmful to you in the slightest physically, and I'll probably reward you for your troubles!"

Spinning the pendant which was apparently one of the mediums that mages used in daily life to cast magic.

I recalled how she told me how they usually used staves and she was an outlier in the fact, I compared that fact to how I could use all the weapons in my arsenal.

I also learned of many things from these three adventurers during my time underground.

Which basically entailed me following them as they talked about the various things I was asking.

Some of the pieces of information being what they called incredibly widespread and was literally the worlds common sense.

Although some of it like the mage mediums were less widespread so it made sense to not know it.

However, most of the basic info I asked was what would label me as incredibly clueless and would mark me as a country bumpkin.

One that they would find could easily kick their teeth in of course, but they didn't know that.

Good thing that the three women that I had first met and were my first connection to, from what I can tell a semi medieval civilization.

But it made sense.

With the usage of magic replacing most other fields in it's utility, the need for invention was incredibly small.

Opening my chest to eat the mushroom soup infused rotten flesh my thoughts continued.

This world was made up of two different continents.

A continent of Minecraft's settings called Minaft.

And the continent of Terraria called Aria.

These two continents fit into the world called Axia and was widely dubbed as the dimension of the 'overworld'.

It was widely dubbed as so because of the other dimensions which found it fun to poke their heads into the 'overworld' every now and then.

The corruption and the End being some of the few if I had to name them.

Absent mindedly slamming a zombie with the large double chest away like a ball into its targets I thought quietly.

The continent of Minaft was apparently engulfed in a continental level war with two major forces duking it out with two very different battle systems.

If I had to compare it was like a battle between man and machine, except the man in this case were giant flesh eating monsters.

Which honestly wasn't a surprise to be honest since I have seen literal zombies now.

However, for the game called Dead cells, honestly I was half surprised and surprised.

From what little knowledge of the lore which was explained (Really it was just stuffed into my mind) by the God of Fun and Games.

The Dead cells franchise was set in a Kingdom in the middle of the ocean infected with the disease called the malaise.

The Origin of the malaise that being the kingdom still.

I was surprised to find that the malaise was an incredibly high grade threat, being spread by the now infected pirates who aimed to plunder the fallen kingdom.

"Hey guys!" Hearing Rina's excited voice come from ahead I was pulled out of my thoughts.

Looking up to see what Rina was so excited to see.

I was assaulted by the piercing light that attacked my lights.

Holding my arm up to block the light heading into my eyes.

I heard the rest of what Rina was saying "We're at the surface!"

As my eyes more adjusted to the darkness of the caves adjusted to the light of day.

My eyes were opened and finally saw the outside world and breathed the fresh outside air.
