Millie and Ewan: I Will Never Get Married!

Ewan Long is the CEO of one of the biggest IT companies in the world, but his grandfather, the owner, will not let him inherit the company or even continue working there if he does not get married soon. Ewan's grandfather arranges a date for him with one of the richest women in the country, Emma Da Costa. What Ewan does not know is that Emma already arranged for her friend, unsuccessful indie singer Millie Pereira, to date him instead, after she offered her a great record deal. Emma's plan is for Millie to scare him away; something Emma wouldn't be able to do since she's "too perfect". Millie takes Emma's place and meets Ewan. They soon find out they have something in common: None wants to get married!

Chapter 3

"Very funny, Vanilla." Emma took a sip and laughed a little. Then looked around, stared at Millie for a moment, and smiled, her tongue tasting her upper lip.

"I don't like it when you do that, Emma."

"Why not? Is it too sexy for you?"

"No. I know what you're thinking."

"Oh, no, no. I bet you don't know, honey."

"Oh, I know. I might not know the specifics, but you're scheming something. Whenever you do that, I end up in trouble."

"My sweet, sweet, sweet friend. How can you think so low of me? It might surprise you but I actually have a deal for you."

"A deal as in "deal with the devil"? A deal as in "you're gonna get so screwed, you're finally gonna land your guitar on my head and I'll still laugh about it"? That kind of deal?" Millie's eyes were half-closed, looking at Emma's devilish smile.

Emma's fingers were intertwined and one of her eyebrows was rising to inhuman levels making Millie feel even more uncomfortable.

"What if—?"

"No, Emma! I won't!"

Millie stood up, her hands over the table. Her childhood friend had her mouth open, her jaw hanging, and her lips moving slowly yet erratically. Millie finally said, "Emma… Sorry." She proceeded to sit down again, her eyes laying low.

"Hey, girl. Don't worry. I didn't know you had that in you. Wanna hear?"

"Yes. Tell me."

"So I've got a proposal; but this time, there's money in for you."
