Soldier Down

Chapter 18

She sat on the floor of the living room.

Rain poured down, washing the glass as it did.

Her eyes had been fixed on the glass ever since the rain had begun.

It had been five days ever since Mikhail had gone out to do what he wanted to, but now she was wondering what he was doing.

She stood up, walked to the door, and opened it to feel the wave of the air.

"Rob?" She called and the guard at the front came to her.

Funny it was the very same Rob who stood by and watched another man hit her.

Although she was not his Boss's woman then, she still wanted to hit that Max of a guy.

"Ma'am?"

"Can you call him for me? He's not picking up my calls and he's not responding to my messages, please I beg you." She said, and he sighed.

"Honestly Ma'am, I can not talk about it." He said, and she frowned.

"I'm so damn worried about that jerk, and he's out there acting as if he didn't leave someone in his house. He's a bigger asshole." She slammed the door hard, ruffling her head as she head back to her floor.

She was so pissed.

She cared. She had always cared about that jerk.

Although she never wanted to admit that she cared about him. She had always cared about Mikhail Mazza and somehow she had converted the care to hate but she knew she still cared.

Picking up her phone, her eyes widened to see the person that was calling her.

"Hello." She mumbled, and he hummed.

"Mikhail? Is that you?" She asked.

"Seriously? If you want to say something, then say it Ashley I'm damn busy here." She heard him mumble.

"You psychotic foolish human being, I hate you so much. It's been five days Mikhail, you're a jerk, you're a monster."

"Are you done? Don't tell me you've been calling because you cared or you missed me, Ashley....." He waited. "Could have fooled me."

Beep. She cut the call, cleaning the tears that prickled down her eyes.

Then it came again.

"What is it, Mikhail? I hung up and I think that meant I don't want to talk to you." She hissed and he chuckled.

"Are you going to...

Gunshots rang and her eyes widened before the call got disconnected.

She stood up, running to the door.

"Rob..I, Rob I..." She couldn't talk.

What if something had happened to him?

"Ma'am?"

"Mikhail, I. I called Mikhail just now and he picked and then gunshots rang and the call got disconnected." She said, At a rather fast pace.

"Maybe they were training Ma'am."

"I'm a Lady Rob, I'm not stupid." She frowned.

She knew there was no way, he'd tell her about the things they did.

Hissing her way up the stairs, she walked into her room and shut the door close.

She dialed her sister's line and it went through sharply.

"Hi, Sandra."

"Hey, how have you been? So sorry I've not been able to call, I've been so busy." Sandra said.

"I know and I should have called, I'm sorry. How's Mom doing?"

"She's doing well, her breathing is stable and she'll be up soon. She was transferred to a VIP room ever since her surgery. How is that jerk treating you?"

"He went out and it's been five days already and he's not back," Ashley answered, rubbing her forehead.

"Is that not supposed to be a good thing? I mean that's what you always wanted. For him to go and never come back, seems like your prayers have been answered." Sandra chuckled.

"And why would I pray for something like that Sandra? He's a human and we are not expected to pray for such, God will never answer such!" She had almost yelled, but thank God she kept her anger in check.

"What is wrong with you? You certainly didn't call me to yell at me about some freaky, scary Monster didn't you?"

"I'm sorry, it's just..."

"Save it Ashy, I almost forgot that you were practically obsessed with Mikhail Mazza for the first and second semester in school." Sandra hissed, shaking her head.

"I'm not obsessed with him and I know what you're trying to say, I'm just saying that..we should never pray such. God is not a God that takes sides." Ashley mumbled, settling down at her table.

She had gotten a laptop from the mall earlier with the help of Rob.

Life with the Billionaire was indeed a good thing.

"When is this thing going off? This thing with you and the monster?"

"Mikhail is not back, that's what I'm trying to say."

"Mikhail this, Mikhail that, everything you've been saying for the past few minutes is Mikhail Ashy, that obsession is about to begin or maybe it never left..you just used the anger to cover it up." Sandra hissed, cutting off the call.

Ashley knew there was nothing as obsession, that was just what Sandra had named it.

High school was not fun at all.

She had experienced everything she knew was bad luck.

Luck was never on her side and Mikhail Mazza had made her see life for what it was.

Life was hard and she had learned it the hard way.

Getting a scholarship and entering the School of the Elites, life was not fair at all.

Discrimination arose and just like every other girl, she had fantasized about the school's most handsome Billionaire male.

He was a made man, although he had doings with the Mafia she knew him better.

Sometimes to brush her off, he would go to the female restroom and whenever she goes there to ease herself, she would find him fúçking a student or making them give him a blown head.

Mikhail was an ass and it was time she removed that caring part from her system.

He would never like her and she would always be that attention seeker.

Resting her head on the table, Ashley does off.
