Contract

Chapter 6

The morning sun was shining more brightly than ever, as Ashley rinsed the dress she had washed.

Her hands looked pale and white and her fingers were aching due to the number of clothes she had washed.

After the building washing machine broke down, clothes were heaped and she hated the fact that her clothes were the worst of them all.

She'd walk both day and night and time was not on her side, it had never been.

Sandra walked out to the backyard of their apartment.

Thankfully, they had taken the Lower part of the building and so they had a large space in the backyard for cleaning and washing.

"Today," Sandra said and sighed.

"Hmm, today," Ashley answered, knowing full well what she was talking about.

Heaving a deep breath, Ashley cracked her hands and began hanging the clothes on the rope.

It was for her mother! Only for her mother!

The woman had gone through a lot and doing this would be the best way to repay her.

There was no way, she'd let her mother go like that! No way at all!

A few minutes later, she was done with her bath and she stood in front of the mirror.

She wore a pair of white Jean trousers and a blue hanging top with her white bag.

She looked beautiful and her curves had enhanced her beauty.

"Are you going to woo him or what?" Sandra snorted, taking a seat on the bed.

"I'm looking good like I've always been." Ashley rolled her eyes as she applied some lipstick.

"This is way too much, for someone that doesn't know a thing about you two they'll say you're going there to impress him but..."

"But you know better," Ashley concluded the speech to see the other one smile.

"Good." Sandra shook her head.

"What if he wants to get married?" Sandra asked.

"There's no way I'd get married to such an idiot!" Ashley laughed, shaking her head as she watched Sandra through the mirror.

"But.. having his child without getting married, don't you think it's too much?" Sandra sighed and rubbed her eyes.

"Poverty has done a lot to us." She laughed, and Ashley Chuckled.

"That's why I want to change a part of that."

"So? You're not just doing this for mother?" Sandra asked again.

"Everything is for mother," Ashley said and grabbed her bag.. leaving the room.

Mikhail Mazza sat in his office, his sleeves had been rolled up and his three upper buttons were off, leaving his broad chest to view.

He sighed, flipping through the pages of the cases he had filed on his table.

The day before yesterday was hectic, after everything he had gone through because of that woman..he had gone home only to get another piece of news about a new Cartel that was new to town and already cussing rules.

He'd appreciate another cartel under him but when they came with trouble, he was sure to eradicate them from his domain.

Speaking of the woman. She had made him go through a lot.

The truth was that last night when he had just gotten back from the basement, after torturing the men they had in the basement for information...he had gone home only to be called by the Hospital.

They had told him that the older woman would not survive if her surgeries exceed that night..he had let them handle the situation and told them not to tell anyone that they had conducted the surgery.

He was going to have Ashley Crook whether she liked it or not.

He didn't do charity, neither did he do good so his name would be hung on the walls of the church...he was brutal and he'd killed many people and they knew who he was.

He wasn't one to be joked with.

Ashley Crook was one stubborn thing, he'd have to tame her and he'll love the reaction he'd get each time, his taming session began.

A knock came on the door and he sighed.

"Who's there?" He didn't yell.

"It's me, Rob."

"Come in." Still has the same tone. He didn't have to yell, never did but they'd hear him. He had trained them to become that sensitive.

"Sir, the bitch from earlier is here again," Rob said and he frowned.

"What bitch?" He asked, and Rob scratched his head.

"Uhm, you know that bitch that uhm..that very one that..." Rob said and gestured for the action.. using his hand to slap his face.

Mikhail sighed, rubbing his forehead.

"Ashley?" He asked and Rob nodded.

It was either Rob was foolish, or he wanted to die.

"Bring her in." He said and glared at Rob who gave him a cheeky smile.

Rob turned to the door and opened it.

He was about to leave but Mikhail looked up, his eyes sharp like a sword.

"And Rob, she's no bitch." He said and the other man nodded reluctantly.

No man had the right to call her a bitch. She was his to bully and not for another man's amusement.

He dropped the files and his eyes were intently on the door, waiting for it to open and it did.

She poked her head out and frowned when she saw him staring at her.

She walked into the office and looked around, before taking a seat.

"What?" She asked with a glare.

"Some women wait till I say; have a seat or better still they bow at my feet." He said and she rolled her eyes.

"Well, I am myself and not some women, please I came here for something so bring out the contract and let's get this thing out of the picture." She said and he nodded.

A smirk curved on his lips and he chuckled.

"Just a while ago, you were going to kill me, Ash. Tell me, what changed?" He asked.

"Nothing changed, if given a chance.. I'll put you to the ground and cover it." She said and he nodded.

"Hmm, never knew a little fly has been planning my death in such a cruel way." He said and she rolled her eyes.

"Ash?" She gave him another glare.

"When you do this there's no turning back."
