I sat on the bed, still thinking about Ellena's words. I knew I had to persuade Regan to marry her and save himself from more trouble. The door creaked open, and Regan walked in.
"Regan," I called out.
"Yes, love..." he replied, coming closer to me.
"Why did you refuse to marry your betrothed?" I asked, a frown appearing on his face.
"What do you mean?" he responded with a question.
"I was just curious, Regan. But never mind. You have to marry her before the emperor passes away," I hurriedly said, getting up to leave.
But he grabbed my hand, stopping me. "Are you alright, Nora?"
"I'm perfectly fine," I replied, and he let go of my hand.
"I'm not marrying her. I already have a wife, and I don't need another woman," he insisted.
"You have to, if you want to stay alive," I added before entering the bathroom.
