U.A. High School

AN: I have a bit of a rant at the bottom but for now onto the story.

The sun rose on the Yaoyorozu Mansion once again and inside, a white-haired boy in a white shirt and black basketball shorts, was hanging from the ceiling from a set of translucent pink rope and doing a series of pull-ups.

*Shiro POV*

"147… 148… 149… 150…"

Dropping to the floor, I look up at the two strands of bungee gum and dismiss them, causing two cards to fly down to the ground. Packing them back into their deck, I walk over to a punching bag and start wrapping my fists in a cloth.

'Hmm, today's orientation for the U.A.'

Both of us had easily made it in through the Recommendation Exam and today was the student orientation.

After punching at the bag for half an hour, I head to the bathroom and start showering.

'I wonder who else from the test made it. Probably that Coca-Cola kid as well as that wind kid.'

I continue showering and washing off the sweat on my body. After that, I head down to the dining room where Daichi, Ichika, and Momo are all eating breakfast.

Daichi looks up from his newspaper, "Morning Shiro."

"Good morning."

Everyone else says morning and I start eating my breakfast as well. After breakfast, I head up to my room to change.

'Can't believe I have to wear a uniform.'

In the background, I hear Kuro snickering, 'Hehe, yeah you look real good in that.'

'Oh shut up.'

I head back downstairs after packing all my stuff, and Momo is waiting for me, "Shall we go?"

I smile at her, "Yeah, let's go."

After getting to the station and getting aboard the train, Momo starts asking me questions, "What kind of people do you think our classmates will be?"

I shrug my shoulders, "I don't know much, but remember that Coca-Cola kid from the test."

Momo puts her hand to her lips and tries to think about who I am talking about, "I'm sorry who?"

"The kid with red and white hair and different colored eyes. He used ice."

Momo's mind flashes to the scene in the waiting room, "Ohh, him! What about him?"

"Based on what I say, he will probably get in, but being in our class is a different story. As for the rest of our classmates, I have no idea. We'll just see what happens."

We continue on our way to U.A. and not too much later, we reach the school building gates, and this time, we see plenty of other students all wearing the same uniform walk towards the building.

"Class 1-A, huh? This is… what can I say, excessive…"

The two of us are standing in front of a huge door that's at least 6 meters high. The symbols, 1-A are painted onto it and we slide the door open, and only a few people are inside.

'I guess we are early.'

We both take seats in the back and I take a look around, trying to discern and identify the nature of people's quirks.

'He has a tail, obviously a Mutant type. Pink skin, horns, maybe a mutant, but of what? An alien? That kid has engines on his legs, once again mutant. No visible, mutat… what's with his elbows? They look like… tape dispensers?'

I take out a deck of cards and start doing several sequences out of boredom, and the alien girl and a spiky red-haired kid walk over to me, "OHH, that so cool man!"

"Wow! You're like a magician!"

I grin and stop shuffling, "Wanna see a magic trick?"

They both nod and reply, "Yes please!"

I look through my deck and take out three cards, a Jack of Clubs, a Jack of Spades, and a King of Hearts, "The game we will be playing is called Abduction."

Laying all three cards face-up on the table I explain the scenario, "So here is our King. We need you to kidnap the King. However, he is protected by two guards," I point to the pair of jacks.

"The game is simple, I'll shuffle these three cards, and you have to keep your eye on the king and kidnap him. Simple enough right?"

The pink girl looks disappointed, "Aww, I thought this was a magic trick."

I smirk as I begin to fold each card in half vertically and point at the King of Hearts in the middle, "Alright, now which one of you is going first?"

The red-haired boy steps up, "I'll go!"

"Ok, keep your eye on the card."

I flip all the cards over and start mixing them up, around, over, left, right, the cards switch spots many times before finally stopping, "Ok, pick."

He looks at the three cards and picks the one on my left, "Congrats, you got it right. Now let's try again."

Once again I showed them the cards and started shuffling, this time the pink girl went, "Uhmmm, it should be this one!"

Picking the one in the middle, I flip it, once again revealing the king.

"Damn, both of you are pretty good at this. Let's play a few more times."

I show them the position of the king and roll my fingers slightly. Momo realizes what I'm about to do and she smirks remembering the number of times I had pulled the same trick on her.

"Let's start, shall we?"

I show them the card and start shuffling, "Ok, pick."

The red-haired boy picks the card on the right, and I flip it over with a smirk still on my face, "Looks like your luck is running out."

The Jack looks up at them tauntingly as I flip over the middle card, revealing the King.

The red-haired boy furrows his eyebrows, "I swear it went to the right…"

The pink girl laughs out loud, "Haha, Eijiro, you got it wrong!"

The red-haired boy, Eijiro, crosses his arms, "Fine you go, Mina."

I look up at Mina who nods and I show the king before mixing up the cards. Once again, I do a simple sleight of hand and switch the king with one of the Jacks.

I stop and Mina grins confidently while pointing to the card on the left, "It's the left! I know it is."

But her confident smile disappears as I flip the card over and reveal a Jack, "Too bad."

Mina's mouth drops and she tries to say something, but all that comes out is, "But. I… We… Saw. H-how?"

By this time, a small crowd had gathered and the black-haired boy with tape dispensers grins, "Oh, what's this? A magic show?"

I ignore him, focusing on my two participants, "Looks like I'll need to make this a bit easier for you."

I pick up the King, showing them its face, and rip off a corner of the card, "There. Now you should be able to get it."

Putting the ripped corner on the table, I cover it with a bit of Bungee Gum, and Mina and Eijiro frown, "But isn't that too easy," Mina says.

Eijiro nods in agreement and I chuckle, "Say that after you win."

They look at each other and shrug, and I show them the card and start shuffling again. Very slowly, I mix the cards around to make sure that they can see it.

Ending off with the ripped card in the middle, I gesture to the table, "Ok, pick."

They both immediately point to the ripped one, and I smile, "Are you sure?

"Yes."

Sighing, I flip over the card, "Your loss."

Instead of a King of Hearts, it was a Joker.

"WHAT!!!"

"Where did the King go?"

Eijiro frowns, "Did you switch out the cards? That's cheating isn't it?"

I chuckle, and gesture to the corner trapped under the Bungee Gum, "I didn't switch it, that's been the card the whole time you can check to see if the corner lines up."

Dispersing the Bungee Gum, I allow them to pick up the corner and compare it to the main card. I smile easily in the silence as my classmates look at the card in shock.

Eijiro looks completely awestruck, "Wha, how? It fits perfectly!?

The boy with the tail puts his hand to his chin, "It must be his quirk."

A girl with long green hair and wide eyes mutters, "But wasn't his quirk that pink substance? How can he have two quirks?"

I stand up next to Eijiro and pat his back, "Well my friend you tried. But it looks like someone got the king first."

Then someone walks in, and I focus on them analyzing the, when killer intent leaks out of me, 'That hair, those eyes, that smile. That bastard!'

The people around me lean back a bit, wondering what happened to the light-hearted magician from before.

Inside, I can hear Kuro yelling at me, 'Oy, don't do anything rash. That's not-,' but I ignore him, completely focused on the person in front of me.

Jumping on top of the desk, I throw 6 cards at the newcomer.

"What the-ARGH!!! FUCK!!!"

2 of them miss, but the other 4 hit their targets, slicing bits of exposed skin, like the back of the hand, arms, and face. The other people look at me with shock.

He drops his bag and turns at me, but I am already leaping over desks and charging at him. I throw wads of Bungee Gum at him, but he blasts them aside with explosions generated from his hand.

'Explosions? That can't be- oh shit!'

The blond boy charges at me and raises his hand in front of my face, "DIEEEE!!!"

I quickly think about how I can counter him, 'That's the best I can work with for now.'

I create a 2-inch thick wall of bungee gum and stretch it out, forcing it to make it as tough as possible.

His hand crashes into my wall and he releases a barrage of explosions attempting to burst through, but my Bungee Gum ripples lightly, and I get pushed back slightly. Shockwaves from the explosion make their way to the sides of the gum and mess with my nerves and muscles a little.

'Argh, that hurt.'

Surprisingly, his explosions stop quickly as he steps back, holding his left hand to his chest.

'Does his quirk damage himself? No, wait, the shockwaves, so that means…'

He gets back up and prepares to fight, but I am bowing in front of him, and his expression changes.

"I am truly sorry about that! I mistook you for someone else, please forgive me!"

Kuro is sighing inside, 'I told you that wasn't him.'

'Why didn't you stop me!?'

'I don't know, I kinda wanted to see what would happen.'

'Tch.'

The blond kid looks extremely confused, but his expression quickly morphs into one of anger, "HAA!!! You attack me and then after I beat you, you beg for forgiveness!?!? What's wrong with you!?!?"

I stand back up, "I'm pretty sure that you lost, but whatever. Give me your arm, I can treat it."

"What?"

"The shockwave rebound damages the muscles in your arm, it'll affect you unless you get it treated."

He looks at me suspiciously but reluctantly sticks his arm out. I called out to Momo, "Momo, can you make a set of senbon?"

Momo quickly moves over and passes me 4 long metal needles and Bakugo looks at me with wide eyes, "Oy oy oy, what the hell do you think you are doing!?!?"

I gesture to his arm, "Your muscles are damaged and I need to fix it. Just relax, and don't tense your muscles, if you do, it'll hurt like hell."

I take one of the needles and surgically stab it into his arm, I repeat the process with the other 3 and the kid sits down and looks at the 4 needles sticking out of his arm.

I look at my watch and tell him, "Keep those in for a few minutes and you should be fine afterward."

I go back to my seat, and the other kids look at me warily. The once cheerful environment, gone, replaced by a tense quiet atmosphere.

'Well, there goes my high school social life.'

However, the two students from before stay and talk, the redhead puts his hand to his fist to his chest, "My name is Eijiro Kirishima! Nice to meet you."

The alien girl puts her hand out, "I'm Mina Ashido. Nice to meet you as well.

I look up at the pair, and sign, and reach into my pocket, "Hello nice to meet you, I'm Shiro Hirota. Sorry about that whole fiasco from before, he looked like someone I knew."

Mina looks at me questionably, "Wow, you must hate that person a lot, to attack them on sight."

"It's a long story, also Kirishima, sorry about this. I was gonna give it back right after, but we kinda got distracted."

I put his wallet, phone, watch, and a key chain on the desk and he looked shocked.

"Ahh-uhh, ok… thanks, I guess…"

A green-haired kid walks in and sees the blond in the class, and notices the needles on his arm, "Kacchan! What happened?"

'Kacchan?'

He ignores him and instead glares at me.

A brown-haired girl walks up behind him, "Hey Izuku!"

He goes red and turns away while hiding his face.

"Go somewhere else if you want to play with your friends. This is the Hero Course," Ochako and Midoriya freeze and looks behind them. There is a yellow sleeping bag with a very tired pale man inside.

"Okay, it took 3 seconds before you were quiet. Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough." He looks into the room and quickly looks over everyone, "I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you."

He notices the needles in Bakugo as well as the cut, "What happened to you?"

Bakugo glances back at me, and mutters, "Nothing."

Aizawa doesn't miss the glance, but ignores it, "Whatever, go to the nurse for a second to get those cuts taken care of.

Aizawa reaches into his sleeping bag and pulls out the UA gym uniform. "It's kind of sudden, but put this on and go out onto the field"

We all head to the locker rooms and the blond kid comes back shortly, all the cuts on his body gone.

We quickly assemble on the field and Aizaw stands in front of us, "We will be doing a quirk assessment test."

"What about the entrance ceremony? The Orientation?" Ochako asks worryingly, thinking that this is breaking the school rules or something.

Aizawa replies nonchalantly, "If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events. UA's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are. That's also how the teachers run their class." Then he explains the rules and standards for the tests.

He calls out to the blonde, "Bakugo, is your arm better?"

Bakugo rolls his shoulders and shrugs, "Yeah."

"You scored highest on the practical exam. In junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?"

"67 meters."

Aizawa continues, "Ok, now try doing it with your quirk."

He has Bakugo step inside of a circle, "As long as you stay within the circle, I don't care what you do. Hurry up. Give it all you got."

Bakugo stretches his arm out and grins, "Well, in that case…"

He holds the ball, for a second before deciding what to do with it, "DIE!!!"

He whips the ball forward and it goes flying, propelled by the explosion created from his hands.

Aizawa holds up the distance reader, "705.2 M"

Everyone gets excited as they realize how much more interesting the physical tests have become.

Mina looks excited, "What's this? It looks fun!"

Aizawa mutters something, "It looks fun, ey?"

Everyone looks at him with confusion.

"You have 3 years to become a hero. Will you have that attitude the whole time? Alright, whoever is in last place for all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and will be punished with expulsion. Welcome to UA's hero course," he says with an evil grin

I read his expression, 'He's completely serious.'

Kuro smirks inside, 'Well, this could be interesting.'

Test 1: 50 Meter dash.

I watch as my classmates use their quirks in various ways to make their way to the finish line.

'Too bad I can't use my cards.'

Aizawa calls out, "Shiro Hirota, and Minoru Mineta."

I take my place at the starting line and a small kid with purple balls for hair steps up beside me, 'What are those balls?'

I apply Bungee Gum to my feet and concentrate and wad of Bungee gum into a ball, 'It's not as effective as cards, but it works.'

I take a step back and I see that the kid has thrown his balls on the floor, 'Could it be…'

"3...2...1… start!"

I start running, focusing on getting the necessary momentum and height needed to pull this off. Once I do, I throw the ball of Bungee Gum at the ground and pull myself forwards, like the time at the Recommendation Exam.

"5.1 seconds."

Throwing the ball to the ground again, I cut off my momentum and turned to look at the Mineta kid, who was hopping on his balls.

'Just as I thought, his quirk is like mine… but just worse… a lot worse.'

Test 2: Grip Strength

Using my Bungee Gum, I create a sleeve around the trigger of the dynamometer and maximize the resistance.

I look down at the screen, "474 kg."

I glance around the room and see a kid with a mask and multiple arms, 'Mutant, but has transformation qualities.'

Test 3: Standing Long Jump

The kid named Bakugo flies across, using his explosions as propulsion, 'Hmm, how versatile.'

Aizawa calls me up, 'Standing long jump, huh? What a pain, I don't have much to work with here.'

I throw two wads of Bungee gum connected to strings past the jumping pit, 'This should work.'

"Go."

Tensing my legs, I jump as high as I can while jumping forward, and use the Bungee Gum to pull me forward. I shoot across the pit and land a few feet away from the edge.

"10.4 meters."

Test 4: Repeated Side steps

Once again I observe my classmates and watch as Mineta bounces between two large balls made of balls at insane speeds.

After him, is the green-haired kid that was almost late to class, 'That's weird, he hasn't been using a quirk. I thought he was just incompatible with the previous tests, but he just isn't using a quirk. Why is that?'

After he performs, it's my turn. Once again, I throw down two wads of Bungee Gum, a few meters away from me on the left and right sides.

"Go."

Using the tension, I pull myself to either side of the line at high speeds.

"180 repetitions."

Test 5: Ball throw

The brown-haired girl touches the ball and her hands glow a light pink and she throws it. It goes flying into the air and continues to gain height.

"..."

"..."

'Gravity Manipulation, or Gravity Cancellation?'

Aizawa holds his hand up to show the marker, "∞."

Stepping inside the circle, I turn to Aizawa and hold the ball, "I can do anything as long as I stay inside the circle right?"

He nods his head, "Yeah pretty much."

"Ok."

I turn around the way I am supposed to, wrapping the ball in bungee gum and setting the resistance to the weakest. I whip it forwards and it goes zooming away from the direction I am supposed to.

Around me, I can hear confusion.

"What is he doing?"

"Is he dumb?"

"Has he given up?"

Only a handful of people had an idea of what he was going to do. Aizawa, Izuku, Katsuki, and Momo.

It reaches the 200-meter point and starts to fall, that's when I spin 180 and concentrate on increasing the resistance and the ball suddenly changes directions and whips forwards.

It flies forwards, quickly increasing speed and I whip my hand forwards to give it air. It zooms past me and I quickly disperse my Bungee Gum.

It flies for a few more seconds, "824 meters."

Everyone's jaw drops as this is higher than everyone else's except for Uraraka. After me, the green-haired kid walks up and I watch attentively to see if he uses any quirk.

He throws it, but it barely goes 10 meters. Aizawa's hair rises as he activates his quirk.

'A quirk canceller?'

Aizawa gives the kid a speech and allows him to try again. I see his eyes flash in determination as he sets up to throw the ball.

'Is he gonna use his quirk?'

He throws it and it looks normal for the most part, until the end. For a brief second, his finger emits green lighting and the ball goes flying in a burst of wind.

"705.3 meters."

'What the fuck was that?!?! An electricity-based quirk that increases his strength? But where did the wind come from? Did his finger emit that much force?'

I look at him again, and I see him holding his hand, and his finger turned a nasty shade of purple.

'Broken? He didn't use his quirk before because it's self-destructive. He must have a strength-enhancing quirk. The lighting must be some sort of side effect. But that much from just a finger… it's almost as if he has no control over it.'

"What's the meaning of this?"

Next to me, Bakugo has small explosions bursting from his hand.

"HEY!"

He charges towards Izuku with his handheld outstretched, "Tell me what is going on, Deku, you bastard!"

Before he gets too close, a set of bandages wrap around him and restrain him. He attempts to resist but the bandages stay firm. His hand stops exploding and we all look at Aizawa who's quirk is active again.

"What the-? These clothes are hard..!"

Aizawa explains in his monotone voice, "They're weapons for capture, made out of carbon fiber woven together with metal wire made of a special alloy. Jeez...don't keep making me use my quirk over and over again. I have dry eyes!"

He releases Bakugo and undoes his quirk, "We are wasting time, whoever's next, hurry up."

Izuku cautiously walks around him and runs back over to join us."

Bakugo stands there grinding his teeth and clenching his fists.

'How interesting…'

I make a tube of Bungee Gum and walk over to him, "Hey, do you need help with that?"

I offer him the Bungee Gum and he looks at it confusingly, "It's a brace for your finger. I noticed it's broken."

His eyes widen and he bows his head repeatedly saying thank you over and over again.

I wave him off, "Don't worry too much about it."

I walk back towards Momo who looks at me suspiciously, "It's not like you to care about other people. Why him?"

I give her a small smirk, "He… interests me."

Kuro gasps and sarcastically says, 'I didn't know you were gay.'

'Oh shut the fuck up, Kuro.'

Test 6: Sit-ups

Using the same tension trick as the side-to-side jumps, and ball throw, I easily completed 90 sit-ups within a minute.

After I am done, I strap a large kid's feet down to the ground with Bungee Gum and watch as he downs a cup of sugar then starts doing his sit-ups.

'Using sugar to physically enhance the body… Emitter, probably.'

Test 7: Seated Toe Touches

Just like the Sit-up test, I control the tension of the Bungee Gum to make the test easier. My body is flexible enough and coupled with my quirk, I can easily reach the 13-inch mark.

I look over to Izuku who is straining himself and forcing himself to touch it.

Test 8: Long-distance Run

This time, I have plenty of time and distance to increase my height to maximize my jumping length, so pull myself to the finish.

"3:24."

I look at who has finished before me, and I see the Coca-Cola kid, and engine boy. Bakugo quickly joins us and Momo joins along not that much after.

Once everyone else joins, Aizawa walks in front of us, "Uh, It's easier to show you rather than individually tell you, so look for your name."

He pulls out a remote and clicks a button, displaying a holographic screen.

First Place: Shiro Hirota

Second Place: Momo Yaoyorozu

Third Place: Shoto Todoroki

Fourth Place: Katsuki Bakugo

Fifth Place: Tenya Iida

I quickly look over all of the places and a name catches my attention, 'Shoto Todoroki? Todoroki… isn't that Endeavour's last name?'

I push that thought aside for now and look at the bottom, 'Izuku Midoriya. It's a shame, you have an interesting quirk. But goodbye-'

"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion. It was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your quirk," Aizawa drops the bomb on us.

Shock is visible on everyone's faces, "Of course it was a lie. It should've been obvious if you just thought about it," Momo said, looking at the others.

'No no no, he was dead serious. Why did he change his mind?'

Aizawa starts talking again, "With that, we're done here. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom, so when you get back, look over them." As he starts to walk away, he stops in front of Midoriya and tells him to go to the nurse and get fixed.

As we start walking to the locker rooms, Kirishima walks up to me and puts his hand over my shoulder, "Man what a cool quirk you have, Shiro."

Another boy walks up next to Kirishima, I recognize him as the electricity guy, "I know right, Eijiro. It's like a weird cross between rubber and gum, but pink."

Once we get in the locker rooms, people start talking to each other and get used to their classmates. Bakugo and Todoroki both leave and the rest of us chat and introduce ourselves.

I take my shirt off to change and everyone goes quiet, "What?"

Kirishima gulps, "Well, you looked kinda thin on the outside, but damn bro you are muscular."

I look down at my body, "Didn't you see before? When we were getting changed?"

Kaminari says, "You were kinda giving off a vibe and I just avoided looking at you for a bit. Well, it's weird to check out other guys right?"

Everyone else nods hurriedly, and I sigh, "So what kind of quirks do you guys have?"

I already have a vague idea of what everyone's is, but I don't know any of the finer details.

Kirishima starts by sharpening his arm, "My quirk is Hardening, I can get hard."

Everyone starts saying their thing, and I listen extremely close to Izuku's.

"Uhh, uhh, my quirk is… super strength. I can enhance my muscles temporarily, hehe."

Both Kuro and I simultaneously say, 'He's lying.'

I think to myself, 'But why would he hide his quirk?'

People keep on going until I am last. I create a wad of Bungee gum and stretch it out to form a small wall between my hands, "Bungee Gum has the properties of both rubber and gum. I can do a bunch of other stuff with it too, like make it stretchy and sticky."

Everyone nods and Kaminari drops his jaw, "Yoo, I was right! I must be a genius."

We all headed back to the classroom and read over the pamphlets that Aizawa had given us. After that, we are allowed to head home. Momo and I both start walking home and I start coming up with counters for each of my classmates.

I create scenarios and judge how I would fare based on each of their quirks and physical ability.

'Izuku… that kid is hiding something about his quirk. But what, and why?'

AN: So I saw some of the comments from the last chapter and I just need to clear something up. Just because he is afraid doesn't make him a beta. The personality I'm going for is more of the calm and rational type. I don't know where some of you got that idea, but he is not a beta now, and he never will be. The hemophobia thing is a reasonable reaction to seeing your mom's brutalized body.

Also, there is something called Character development, I don't plan to make him hemophobic the whole way. I do have a timeline for what will happen, and eventually, he will overcome his fears.

Other than that, thanks for reading.

P.S. that last AoT episode tho...
