Alastor Cohed—the eldest son of the famous Cohed family.
He's known as the son of storms, the offspring of the two famous heroes: Noah Cohed—Thunder King, his father, and Rita Cohed—Wind and Rain, his mother.
Just like Dolian, he was famously known all throughout the country as a person who has a lot of potential and could even vie for the throne of number one in the new generation of heroes.
His quirk combines the given might of both of his parents, giving him full domain over storms. He can command lightning and twist the direction of wind and rain. The wind is his dog, lightning is his cat, and water is his bed.
Furthermore, it is commonly known that quirks are not just a representation of one's abilities, but also an extension of one's personality. A person who has a quirk that is related to healing may have a gentle and caring personality, while a person who has a quirk related to fire may, as you guess it, have a fiery personality.
So if a child were to be given a quirk with the power to wield storms, then one could already guess that his personality would be similar to storms. He would be irascible, irritable, and bad-tempered.
As of that moment, the child known as Alastor Cohed stared out the windows of the car he was riding on with squinted eyes.
'This is my time to become number one!'
'Who cares about Aleksandra Glory or Dolian Tatori? I'll show the world that Alastor Cohed is stronger than them!'
'I'll make mother and father proud, and I'll become the greatest hero in the country! No, the entire world!'
He clenched his fist and his dark blue eyes lit up, causing sparks to crackle around his clenched fist and wind to blow around the car. His dark blue hair fluttered with the wind as he grinned, brimming with confidence as he can already imagine his inevitable win.
Just as he was fully engrossed in his daydreams, he felt the car stop and opened his pair of dark blue eyes. Glancing out of the windows, he saw a grandeur entrance leading towards vast green plains and numerous buildings towering up into the sky.
The buildings were wide and varied in shape. Some were the common rectangular towers, while others were enormous domes or cylindrical towers like that of a wizard's tower. ]
Ignoring the beautiful architecture and landscape carefully designed by numerous masters of the country, Alastor opened the car and grabbed his bag. As soon as he walked out of the car, everyone seemed to notice his overbearing presence and quietened down.
Alastor was undoubtedly a handsome man. He has long dark blue hair nearing the color of black, along with a pair of ocean-blue eyes. He has a tall and muscular frame, and add in Glory Academy's stylish uniform, one can't deny how dashing he looked.
Of course, if that was all, then that wouldn't have been enough to silence everyone in the nearby vicinity.
No, everyone went quiet because Alastor was not just famous for his strength, but also horrible personality. He was easily angered and was more than happy to clash fists with another individual.
Unless they wanted to kill themselves, no one would intentionally try and provoke this wild beast.
After a short pause, everyone averted their eyes and walked through the academy entrance at a quickened pace to distance themselves as far away from Alastor.
Not even giving a damn about their reaction, Alastor continued to walk with a confident stride, observing the area around him to find a few particular targets.
But as he did so, he confirmed that his targets weren't near the entrance and decided to enter the academy like the others to try and find them.
As crowds of students avoided him and made way like he was the plague, Alastor stared and eyed the area around him and, just like before, none of his targets can be found!
'Where could they be?' Alastor rubbed his chin as he listened to the wind around him.
Countless voices of countless students rang in his ear like a cacophony of murmurs and voices. If it was anyone else who haven't undergone the same hellish training as he did, they would have already gone insane from the illusory voices they heard.
But he persisted and listened carefully while continuously walking all around the school.
Finally, his efforts didn't go to waste as his eyes lit up upon turning around.
Ahead of him, he saw a beautiful girl standing in the vast open field with a dazed look in her eyes.
Her long blond hair fluttered with the wind like golden rivers, while her eyes similar to priceless jewels reflected the soft sunlight. She wore a similar black blazer as the male students of Glory Academy, while also wearing a black skirt, knee-high white socks, and black leather shoes.
She seemed to be grabbing onto something, and as she opened the golden locket hanging around her neck, she saw an image of two kids with big wide smiles.
'I'm just so happy that we're going to the same middle school too…' Aleksandra Glory's face slightly turned pink, when all of a sudden, she seemed to have sensed something and closed the locket.
Then, she turned around and was immediately greeted by a pair of ocean-blue eyes staring right at her.
Without even having to think, she straightaway recognized who the aloof youth was.
'Dark blue hair and ocean-blue eyes; the only son of the Cohed family, Alastor Cohed!' Aleksandra couldn't help but be surprised to see someone who she can consider her rival, although the two had never met personally until now.
Before she could even say something, she suddenly saw the man take a step and appear right in front of her the next moment. The wind around the two burst forth as her hair was flung to the back, showcasing Alastor's adeptness with his quirk that allowed him to move faster than what he is physically capable of by controlling the wind around his body and pushing himself forward.
Aleksandra held back the urge to instantly send a punch when he moved and assessed, 'He's fast, and perhaps even just a tiny bit faster than me if we were to go at full speed, but that's only an estimate.'
Just as she was about to say something, she heard Alastor say, "Aleksandra Glory; it's nice to finally meet you."
She calmed herself down and went with the flow. She nodded her head and extended her hand out for a handshake, "Alastor Cohed; the same can be said for me."
As the two greeted one another, the students around them seemed to have noticed the two and a small crowd was already forming.
"How can I help you today?" Aleksandra probed as she felt Alastor's hidden malicious intent.
Putting on a fake smile, Alastor responded, "I was just surprised to see you today that I wasn't able to help myself from greeting you."
"I've heard numerous stories and rumors about Aleksandra Glory's renowned fame wherever I go."
"The 'New Beacon of Hope', 'Bringer of a New Era', and what I like most, 'Number One of the New Generation.'" Alastor's smile deepened as he grabbed Aleks' hand and held it tightly.
Greeted by his outright threat, Aleksandra responded with the same amount of strength, "What are you trying to pull off, Alastor."
"Oh, I was just wondering if those rumors were… you know, false." Alastor chuckled and stared at the crowd that was turning larger and larger around them.
"Let's see if that title of number one is up for grabs, shall we?" Alastor grinned and opened his mouth wide.
The wind around his mouth and throat gathered to form a formless microphone, and his loud voice boomed, "Aleksandra Glory! I challenge you to a fight!"
Instantly, the crowd around them turned chaotic as countless murmurs were heard.
"Did you hear that?"
"Why is Alastor challenging Aleksandra?"
"Is it a friendly spar? Or is it a fight to see who's strongest in our batch?"
"Who cares! All I care about is that those two monsters are gonna face off against one another."
'Crap, he got me.' Aleksandra clicked her tongue as she observed the excited crowd around her.
'If I refuse right now, it would be damaging to my reputation as number one. Many would immediately glorify Alastor, and it would turn into an uphill battle by then.'
'If Alastor becomes number one, not only would the status quo at school change, but also the entire nation as a whole.'
'The Cohed family would be elevated to another level, bringing them fame and glory to have their son become the number one kid in this new generation.'
Countless thoughts surfaced in her mind, and she immediately concluded that if she were to refuse, a lot of things would change, and some of them were definitely bad.
So, now pushed to a corner where she can't back out, she took a deep breath and said, "I accept."
…
As the crowd parted, the two distanced themselves from one another. As they did so, a certain person drinking a cup of matcha latte muttered, "This is way too annoying."
Slurping the last bit of his matcha latte, he wiped his lips and said, "There goes my quiet middle school life."
"I'll just make up for it in high school, I guess."
As he threw the plastic cup into a trash can, his eyes flashed with a fearsome light that forcibly made the crowd around him suddenly want to move away from him.
With the slight commotion in his area, the surrounding crowd easily noticed him as they shouted, "I-It's him! It's Dolian Tatori!"
"Why is he here?!"
"Is he also here to challenge the two?!"
As many made their conjectures, Dolian walked up to the two and nodded at Aleksandra.
'Dolian!' She shouted in her mind as her eyes lit up, when all of a sudden, Dolian spoke.
"You two seem to be having fun. Mind if I join?" Dolian grinned.
'He's joining too? That's great! That means I don't have to painstakingly search for him and just deal with the two with one stone!' Alastor smiled, "Of course!"
Staring at the two with genial eyes, Dolian laughed and said, "To make things more interesting, I decided to fight the two of you… alone."
"What?!"
"He's asking the both of them to fight him alone?!"
"Is he insane?!"
'What is he trying to do?' Aleksandra stared at Dolian with confused eyes, while Alastor gritted his teeth.
'Is he looking down on me???'
"Stop looking at me with those eyes. I'm doing this for your own good!" Dolian shrugged his shoulders.
'That's it! He's definitely provoking me!' Alastor held back the urge to attack right that instant and turned towards Aleksandra, "Are you okay with that?"
Aleksandra paused for a second before nodding her head, "Yeah."
"Good! Both parties are okay with it, so let's not waste our time and start the match already!" Dolian bent his legs and squatted down, planting both of his feet firmly on the ground.
As he did so, both Alastor and Aleksandra had their eyes light up.
Aleksandra slammed one of her feet to the ground and widened her eyes. A fiery red beam of light then shot out towards Dolian.
On the other hand, Alastor grabbed at the air ahead of him; wind and thunder boomed as a spear of electricity formed. With a fierce throw, the lightning spear was flung toward Dolian, and created after images behind it.
Greeting the two fearsome attacks with a genial smile, he pressed back his fist and his entire body tensed up. Strength surged from his very heart as vibrant life energy coursed through every fiber of his being.
'When one trains ten thousand hours, one becomes an expert. If one executes the same kick a hundred thousand times, it becomes a fearsome kick.'
'So if one trains the same single move a billion times, what would happen?' Dolian's vision changed in a split second as he saw a vast white void with countless humans with the same appearance as him throwing a single punch.
'Then that single move nears transcendence every so closer.'
He punched… and the sound of a mighty dragon's roar was heard.
AN: This chapter has 2073 words.
Not gonna lie, Alastor unexpectedly played a big role in this arc. I was just going to use him later on in later arcs for some stuff that I could think of but plans change and the big climax of this arc took a big sudden turn.
