White Rabbit

When he got back, Frank Jaeger drove to his house on the outskirts of Washington DC. He couldn't help but feel exhausted after the mission. He walked up to his front porch and opened the door. He tossed his sword aside and walked to his answering machine then pressed play to hear his messages while he bathed.

"You have three new messages." The machine said before letting out a beep,

"Hi Frank, it's your sister, Naomi. I wanted to know if you're still available to go out to dinner when I return to the States? My spring break is coming so I'd like to see if we can just hang out again. You've been busy and your office isn't picking up so I thought it's better to leave a message. Call me back, ok? I love you." The machine beeped to play the second message,

"Frank, it's Gustava, I wanted to check in how you were doing? I know it's been a while since we talked but…I miss you Frank, I don't spend a day without thinking about you, I need you please and I know you need me. We can finally be together again, we could get married and run off like we always used to say. I heard he's gone now, with him gone we can finally be free Frank. Just call me back please, I'm staying at a hotel in the city, please call me back, I want to see you again." The machine beeped once more,

"Hey Frank, this is Emily, Dr Clark…I really want to say I owe you one for helping me save him. If you ever need help in any way or anything I can do for you, just let me know, I'm a woman of my word and will pay you back. From the bottom of my heart…thank you…" the machine beeped as Frank stepped out the shower in his shorts, he walked to his vinyl player and put a record on as he began walking to his office. It was a song from his childhood, a song that holds a special place in his heart, one that he remembers like a close memory,

" One pill…makes you larger and one pill makes you small…and the ones that mother gives you don't do anything at all. Go ask Alice…When she's ten feet tall… " he sung internally, he opened a door to a dark room that had a bunch of monitors and a maps along with a radio,

" And if you go chasing rabbits…and you know you're going to fall, tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar…has given you the call. Call Alice…when she was just small. " Frank grabbed the radio and dialed a specific frequency then pressed the call button,

"Gray Fox to Big Boss, did you make it to Zanzibar Lands?" asked Frank,

"Yes we did, thank you Fox for playing your part." Big Boss answered,

"I'm sorry, we failed you Big Boss."

"No no, you simply gave me another opportunity. I'm going to need you again, Fox, this time as a different role. Are you willing to play along?" Big Boss asked,

"Yes, I'm your sword, I'm willing to do anything for the cause, Big Boss." Frank replied,

"Good, check the email I just sent, we have a long time to prepare, keep an eye on him for me, Frank. Big Boss out." Big Boss said right before hanging up. Frank sat down in front of the monitors and opened his email, he saw a couple of files but noticed one specifically that caught his attention.

"TX-99….Metal Gear Delta…" Frank mumbled, he continued to click through the files, preparing himself for his next mission for the Outer Heaven Army.
