EXCERPT. "What do you mean?" "What I mean Ethan is that i can't live with a man who i am not married to." Maria snapped at me, her face flushed with emotion. This was the first time she had ever raised her voice at me. I could tell she was hurting. "So what do you want me to do?" Though i asked, a part of me already had a clue as to what she might say. "A divorce. I want you to divorce her so-." "I can't" I quickly cut her off. "Why not? Is there some law which says you can't?!" Maria paused. Her body trembling with rage," For God sake you were drunk Ethan! So was she! You have enough reason to get.-" "That's not what I meant." "Then what do you mean?" I didn't understand it myself. I had no idea what had come over me, but the flame. It burned deep inside my chest. I had to understand what it meant. "I want to feel it." "Feel what Ethan? You're not making any sense!" "I'm not stupid. Even though I was drunk i still had some Sense. There's no way i could have married her if i didn't have a reason. If i didn't feel something." "What are you trying to say to me Ethan." Maria slowly approached me, tears dripping down her face. I looked away from her, i didn't want my gaze to meet hers. I knew what i was doing wasn't right, i just couldn't stop myself. I had to find out what happened that night. "What I'm trying to say is that. I need to feel it. I need to understand what i felt for her that made me marry her. I need to understand that feeling and until i get that... I can't divorce her." "What?" "I'm sorry Maria." I knew i had hurt her, i knew what i was doing was wrong. But there was nothing more i could do. My mind was made up.

Don't say Janet.

*TICK TOCK*

It felt like time had stopped. It was ten minutes ago that Annie had left me in the doctor's office, since then there has been nothing but deafening silence.

"Janet, are you okay? Please talk to me. You're scaring me." I pleaded, but the silence remained. It was the first time in months that I had felt this alone. Janet was always here, talking with me. She was my sister, my soulmate. My everything. I couldn't help but believe I did something wrong. Otherwise, why would she be mute? I was terrified scared of this silence and what it meant.

*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*

"Talk to me Janet!" *BANG!*"Talk!!" I kept slamming my head against the wooden desk, each hit more forceful than the other. If Janet wasn't going to talk to me, I'll have to force her. *BANG!* *BANG*

"Huh?"

"Doctor come quick!!" I heard someone scream from behind me and before I knew it, i was being restrained. At least three people surrounded me, two of them pinned me to the floor, while the last person -- a nurse, held my head. She whiped my forehead. All i did was struggle. I needed answers. I needed her voice.

When the nurse was done, the material she had used was soaking red. Janet, Janet. JANET! That was the only thing on repeat in my head. Fear gripped me. I had to reach her, i had to continue.

*BANG!* I continued this time, driving my head to the wooden floor.

"Hold her in place!" Someone yelled.

"Where is the doctor?!"

"We need to stabilize her, get the shot!"

What shot? Within moments everything was blurry. My eyes felt uncontrollably heavy. I slept.

'Wake up you dumdum'.

"Hm? Where am I?" As i slowly opened my eyes, i was engulfed by darkness. The only light coming from the silhouette of a figure standing above me. "Who are you?" I mumbled, my body rocked by pain and nausea.

"Huh?! How do you not know your best friend?" The figure grinned evily. As the blur started to fade, i couldn't believe my eyes. I froze. I was staring at myself, at the same time I wasn't. It was hard to recognize who i was. I looked torment. My hair was soaked in blood that dripped down, staining my face and the white dress i was wearing. With eyes so dark, it felt like I was staring into an abyss.

"Who a-re you?" I questioned. My body quivered with fright.

She smiled.

'I am Janet.'

"Roxi! Roxi! Oh my gosh! You're finally awake!" Annie called to me.

I groaned as the piercing light hit my eyes.

"Are you okay?" Annie voice broke with each word.

I slowly got up. My vision normalized and a typical hospital ward came into view. "What happened?" i questioned, turning to the heart monitor beside me.

"Oh, you're okay." Annie hugged me tight, as if I would disappear if she let go.

"Annie, what happened." I questioned once more. This time my tone was flat and unyielding.

Annie sighed deeply," You hurt yourself again." She fisted her hands, grabbing tightly unto the edge of her uniform. She was scared, i could tell. Streams of tears, flowed down her face. She hissed," Why didn't you tell me?" Her breathing grew erratic.

"Tell you what?" Curiosity gripped me, my mind going back to Janet.

"Janet ... Does she still talk to you?"Annie bit her lip harder. She looked deeply pained, as if my silence betrayed her. I could only stare helplessly at the ceiling. I was afraid to meet her gaze.

"Answer me!" She slammed her hand on the drawer beside her, knocking off a tray.

"Y-yes." I stuttered. My head was low so was my spirit. I had betrayed Annie's trust. She warned me not to keep talking to Janet. She said Janet was bad news. But Janet was my only friend. How could I stop? I even threw away the pills Annie gave me -- they were supposed to prevent me from hearing Janet. But, but I couldn't! I was too scared to live without Janet. To scared of being alone.

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why didn't you tell me Janet came back." Annie's voice was rough and coarse. She wailed within herself.

"Because she never left."

I fidgeted.

"Our stocks are growing fast. At this rate it won't be long before we take over the markets Sir."

"Yes indeed I can see a very bright future for our companies Sir."

"You're father would be proud of the man you've become Sir."

"Really? Well i think he would be scared of the man I've become." I replied. "I am nothing like that old geezer. Anyway that's all for today, this meeting is over."

"Yes Sir." They unanimously replied as they scurried out of the boardroom.

'Pigs', I scoffed in my mind.

"Andrew what's next on my schedule."

"Well Sir, you have a date scheduled with Maria. You should be there in thirty minutes time." Andrew bowed slightly as he spoke.

'Ahh, Respect. I got it. Finally.'

It's hard to find good help these day, but Andrew is a good kid. He's the first person who has lasted as my PA for more than a month.

"Fine, Get my clothes ready. I'm going for a drive." I instructed.

"Yes Sir."

"The boss is on his way down. I repeat the CEO is on his way down!" Andrew repeated over the intercom in his hands. Hearing this, I grinned slightly.

I made my way to the private elevator on the 34th floor of the GLT investment company building. As i walked out of the elevator, i immediately got rained by praises and adoration from my loyal employees who lined up on both sides of the ground floor lobby, creating a path for me through their center.

"You're amazing Sir.". "Best CEO ever!". "I am lucky to have been employed by you." "Yes!" "I adore you, Sir."

"Hottest man alive!"

"You are Soo handsome." "My Lord!"

"I wish I was his suit."

"You are the best at everything!" "Soo hot!"

"Perfection personified." "Is he a God?" "He's a genius." "We have been blessed by you're presence sir." "I love you!"

"I dream of you all the time."

This was customary in my company -- whenever I came or left, this ritual was practiced. Of course, the employees weren't forced to partake in this, they just did it because they loved me. Well, It was either that or they were really scared to loose their jobs. I mean, if my company fired you, who would ever hire you?

I scoffed, their pathetic display always amused me. I got out of the company and headed towards my parking lot. With the press of a button, i had opened the door of my car. Soon, i was off.

"What do you mean by she never left?" Annie questioned, her eyes boring holes into my soul. My eyes darted around the room.

"I mean she, never left." I gulped.

"Didn't the meds work?!" She yelled. Frustration diffusing her insides. Annie was always like this. Janet would never yell at me. Janet.

"Answer me!"

"I never took them, I'm sorry." I took cover as tears flowed down my cheeks. Suddenly a rush of guilt gripped me. It held me in it's compulsive grip. I felt myself slipping, like I was being sucked into a void. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I repeated. Unable to stop myself. Soon i stared yelling, my body moved uncontrollably. I was agitated.

"Look at me, calm down! Roxi!Roxi!"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm soryyyyy." I yelled over again. I wanted to stop but I couldn't. My body had gone berserk, i was like a mad bull. Without any control. I was scared. I had lost consciousness, though i was sane. Instantly, I started biting myself. The taste of my own blood, made my heart bang louder. I wanted to establish control over my own body. "Stop! Stop! Stop! Janet help! Help! Help!!!" I was alive!

"You don't need her I'm here. I'm heree!" Annie wailed as she tried to hold unto my limbs. I kept hitting and kicking her, but she just wouldn't let go. Why? "Please stop. Doctor! Doctor! Someone! Get me a straitjacket!"

I was out of control. A monster. Hurting those who cared for me. Why? Why!

'Why what? It's their fault not yours.'

"Janet!" Tears poured out of my eyes. Once more i was being restrained. This time i had up to five people surrounding me, they pushed Annie aside as the bound me in the straitjacket. A gag was put in between my jaws. I felt like a dog. My head was pressed against the bed. I stared into the distance, my eyes red with agression. There... She was there. Staring at me, smiling as always.

"JaNeT." I slurred through the gag.

"Quickly give her the shot!"

"hELp Me."

My eyes weakened as my body became numb. Once more i closed my eyes to the world.

'Shh... Don't say Janet.'

A second chapter!! So exciting more to come!!
