Revelation in Moonlight

The sun had long dipped into the horizon, casting a shadow across the earth, the monsters who were hiding from the sun, soon became valiant and roamed free from whatever crack of dirt they came from.

Not only did those rat bastards think that they were stronger when the moon was out, they also had the audacity willingly to approach a Cross.

Despite the appearance of the young woman before them resembling an easy prey, the scent of her blood still wafted unmistakably to their senses.

A demon who unfortunately crossed a path with a Cross stood in front of the church where the Nuns hid the children. This demon had twisted horns protruding from its head, sharp claws, and scaly skin. Its face contorted into a malicious sneer with glowing eyes that pierced through the darkness of the night.

"A Cross in France?" It chuckled, its voice was soft and gentle without a hint of malevolence. Though it's face and body told a different story. "I thought you beasts were on the other side of the sea. Why are you here, little one?"

Kyana kept quiet for a while, she is a woman with rich brown skin, her eyes were closed, and she breathed in and out as if she was trying to calm herself. Despite her slim and delicate soft features, her Prescence radiates strength and resilience.

Cascading down her back are long, flowing locs, intertwined with strands of pure white that shimmer like moonbeams caught in her hair. And when she opened her eyes, a mesmerizing shade of crimson red, seem to glow with an otherworldly intensity, reflecting the moon's silvery luminescence. In the depths of those eyes lies a void, a vast cloud of emptiness.

The look in her eyes told the demon all he had to know about the young Cross' past.

"Ah, so mommy and daddy are no longer around?" He said with a low chuckle. "My condolence."

Kyana only kept her eyes on the beast, not saying anything, she folded her two hands into fists and raised.

"Not talking?" It said with a smirk, "I haven't been out in a while but I'm not stupid, you are the last Cross, meaning if I kill you right here, there will be no more of you, right? Your kin would be extinct."

"Since you raised your hands, I'll use mines as well." It may have Looked like a rather unfair fight no matter what angle you look at it, but those who know of the Cross Clan, know that, that fight was truly unfair.

"Do you want to know what I'll do to you after I beat you?" The demon said with a huge grin.

"Coming of a little cocky aren't we?"

The demon chuckles.

With a primal roar, the demon unleashed a flurry of attacks, each blow aimed at rending Kyana's flesh. But she refused to yield, ducking and weaving with lightning-fast reflexes, evading the demon's strikes with skillful precision, as if to tell the demon the only how he'd be able to touch her was if she wanted him to.

In retaliation, Kyana launched a barrage of punches at the demon. Her fists connected with the creature's twisted form, delivering powerful blows that sent shockwaves rippling through its ethereal essence.

The demon snarled in a fury, its dark eyes burning with hatred. "I must admit...you're good, little Cross. It'll be a shame to end such a powerful bloodline like this."

"Please," she almost laughed, "you can't even lay one finger on me, much less kill me. I'll make this easier for you. I won't use my hands."

The demon began laughing crazily with its head down, it became quiet for while till it launched forward for Kyana.

She stood there not moving and in an instant the demon's body was vertically split in half. Its pieces fall to the ground as it started to disappear in steam.

Then suddenly...

The massive wooden door of the church creaked reluctantly as it began to swing open, its ancient hinges protesting against the weight of centuries. Slowly, inch by inch, the door revealed the darkness beyond, shrouded in the cool embrace of the church's interior. Two little heads peeked out from inside, their faces showed no other emotion but fear as they surveyed their surroundings.

Kyana didn't feel like dealing with children, so she hid behind a big oak tree, which aided by her very small form and dark clothing helped her escape the eyes of those children. She was about to leave but was stopped when a small pale hand, held hers.

She swiftly turned around, almost knocking the little girl.

She blinked as she stared at the little rat that touched her and is still touching her.

"You were the one who saved us." The little girl said innocently, her eyes open wide. "I haven't seen anyone like you before miss, why is your hair so white and why does it look like ropes? And why is your skin dark?"

See why she didn't want to deal with the children, these children were raised by the church and so they were never really aloud to go out...

Not understanding that she didn't want to answer the question, the little girl kept going. "Why are your eyes the color that they are? They are so pretty, like- like a rose, a very beautiful rose..." Kyana understood what was happening now and pinched the girl by her neck causing her to fall. She watched as the little girl fell and picked her up, carrying her bridal style to bring her in front of the church.

What Kyana did was supposed to send her to sleep, but she was apparently too stubborn and kept talking though slower. "Thank you." The little girl said as she finally sleeps.

A nun who was probably looking for the girl, was outside of the church but didn't dare walk any ware further than the streetlamp. "You." She accused. "Put her down right now!" As if that little brat didn't come to her.

Putting the sleeping girl on the ground she notices, a purple mark on her arm and another one on her legs and between her thighs. She didn't say anything as she turned and walked away, leaving the still angry nun and the girl under the streetlamp.

Returning to the Palace of Versailles, she realized that those snarky bastards that made up the French court, were fucking partying while the rest country was starving.

"Typical."

Getting on the grounds of that Giant palace wasn't the issue but not getting caught trying to sneak into her room, bathe and then change was.

Finally making it up to her room, she began to strip but stopped when she felt a presence behind her. She turned around and...

"Fucking hell, Dawnnica, who casually sits in the dark reading?"

Dawnnica, uses her "magic" to light a small flame in her left hand while her right held up a poetry book.

"I do." She says with a smile. "And you are in trouble. I thought you said you wanted my father to allow you to go back?"

Kyana only looked her up and down and said. "Get me dress."

"Don't you have people for that?" Dawnnica Retorted.

Kyana only stared at her and then turned her back to walk towards the bathroom and slammed the door.

"This girl." Dawnnica sighed.

Kyana had put on the dress Dawnnica had chosen for her. The gown was crafted from sumptuous black silk, its smooth, lustrous fabric draping gracefully over Kyana's figure. The bodice is tailored to accentuate the curves of her waist and bodice, with intricate boning and delicate pleating adding structure and support. The neckline of the dress is modest yet alluring, dipping slightly to reveal a hint of décolletage without being overly revealing. It is adorned with delicate lace trim, adding a touch of femininity and refinement to the ensemble. The sleeves are long and slender, tapering to a point at the wrists and fastened with tiny buttons. The skirt of the dress is voluminous and sweeping, cascading in luxurious folds to the floor in a cascade of black silk. It is trimmed with intricate lace along the hem, adding texture and visual interest to the ensemble.

"Perfect right? I chose this one based on how you like to dress. You can't say you don't like it, and I've even gotten you black heels to go with it, for your height." Dawnnica said with a huge grin on her face.

"Don't get too proud of yourself. Let's go."

Walking into the ballroom, a vast and cavernous space, with a soaring ceiling adorned with elaborate frescoes depicting scenes of mythological gods and goddesses cavorting amidst billowing clouds. Gilded chandeliers hang from the ceiling, casting a warm, golden glow over the room and illuminating the intricate detailing of the walls and furnishings.

Kyana watched as the men and women, danced on the wood and marble floors that came together to create a mesmerizing mosaic beneath their feet.

She couldn't say that the place wasn't beautiful, but she couldn't say that she didn't smell a problem either.

"They all stink. Like cow shit." She whispered to Dawnnica, who only placed a finger on her lips saying to shut up and smile.

Masking her true feelings with a forced smile, she acquiesced as Dawnnica ushered her through the malodorous throng of perspiring nobility.

"Kyana, Dawnnica." They both herd their names being called and turned around to see their friends Genique, Angelique and Calisha walking towards them.

"There you two are. Do you know how long we were waiting? I swear the stench in here was starting to rub on to me." Calisha said with her finger over her nose.

"You shouldn't be saying things like that, especially not so loud, Calisha."

"You know it's the truth."

"She's right though, you shouldn't have said that out loud." Genique jumped in.

"I didn't say anything "out loud."

Before Angelique could say anything Kyana slipped out of Dawnnica's hold and wondered off to the object that had suddenly caught her eye.

In the captivating atmosphere of Versailles, a woman stood on the balcony, her back turned to the throng of odorous nobles behind her. Her gaze was fixed dreamily upon the sky, lost in contemplation amidst the opulent surroundings.

Kyana stood silently behind the towering woman, though it was possible Kyana was simply petite (very petite). The woman possessed porcelain skin and cascading, waist-length blonde hair.

"Are you here to admire or to converse?"

Kyana almost choked.

"Excuse me?" She glared.

The woman before her pivoted, unveiling a pair of luminous, almost otherworldly yellow eyes. Radiating a beauty that bordered on divine, she possessed a grace that Kyana couldn't help but admire. Kyana's gaze swept from head to toe, taking in the woman's tall stature and flawless physique. It was evident that if she were to step into the ballroom, envy would ripple through the other women, and men would undoubtedly vie for her attention.

As her suspicions solidified, Kyana's lips stretched into a wide, contorted smile.

"I know what you are," she uttered almost in a whisper, her grin expanding even further.

"And what might that be?" the woman replied, her own smile revealing glimpses of razor-sharp teeth.

"You're a vampire."
