10 . Tryouts

Lillian's POV

I had always liked sports since i was little , so i took gym class very seriously. My main interests were volleyball and long tennis so i was trying out for those . Jenna was almost always my gym partner for the tennis games and it was so cool , we had so much fun together during gym and we had become very good friends so I liked hanging around her . Now , the schools gymnasium was huge and beautiful , it really is a prestigious school. It had brown and white rubber floorings on all the courts , which was volleyball , basketball , tennis and hockey . the nets were white as well on all sides. the gyms main colors were white and gray, like our uniforms and my favorite colors.

Because of the flooring , used in the gym , it gave this squeaky sounds during training . It had been eight weeks since the start of the semester and one semester was sixteen weeks so basically we had done half a semester and every two weeks of in between i would call Karen and update her on everything that was going on and we would talk for a long time before hanging up. I told her about Jenna and how we had become good friends and she said she was so happy i had found a friend finally. Since we were halfway through the semester , classes were not to terrible, i had gotten used to the schedule and lessons were interesting , i am a nerd so....

But on the other hand i did meet some people who for sense of propriety and lack of curse words ( or because i just don't know how to curse) i could only describe as annoying but there were also some nice people, like my sitting partner in physics class. His name was Adam , a really nice guy from Canada. He was a bit taller than me , about a 6'0 , with broad shoulders and light brown wavy hair and cute too. He was really friendly and kind of made class interesting.

Inter house sports tryouts had began , it was everyday after class for two hours and our house mistresses were going to be picking team to represent our house, so i had to do my best. Eventually i was called for both the volleyball and tennis teams , just what i was hoping for, yayyyyyy!!!!!!. We were also told that for the tennis games we would be playing against the opposite gender as a way to familiarize ourselves aside class lessons. But it was just for the school games. I was soooo ecstatic , packed my stuff and went looking for Jenna , to tell her the good news.

Xavier's POV

Since I had never been schooled publicly , this was all new to me. But so far its been okay, the only thing that bothers me most times is how the ladies are always around , flirting and all that. I wonder what they will do when they find out who i am . I am only but a man after all and i do get tempted to play around with them for a while but i have to avoid scandals so ...., yeah .I am also not really a player though. School had reached the middle of the semester , I mean we had about five weeks more to end our first semester of being in year 11 of high school. All my classes were okay, except...... (drumroll please, take a guess.....) , yes history class. Oh man i didn't like the woman. The following week was going to be inter house games week, and even though i hadn't tried sports before i was really looking forward to do so.

Everything here was new territory for me and i kind of liked it, it was a way for me to learn new things. I decided to sign up and tryout for basketball and tennis, considering my stature. And annoyingly enough Robert also joined his house's basketball team , it was alright though, I had nothing against him. Apart from our house masters, every house had a coach for the sports teams, Ours was quite tough, if I must say.

We used gym class hours, we would break into our respective houses during gym and train, This had gone on for about two weeks and this was the final week of training and the selections were being made today. Our coach, whose name is Owen, began calling names into the various teams. The games our house signed up for were basketball, hockey and tennis. ''Xavier!!, Basketball and tennis '' . Oh how joyful I was, i jogged over to my teams.

About thirty minutes later we were dismissed, to our dormitories to shower and return for dinner. As I got to the door , I heard an all too familiar voice , . ' Xavier, guess what, I made on the basketball team, Bro I am so ecstatic '' ,and folks I didn't even have to guess . Yeah , that's robby for you.. We got our various dormitories , and he shouted '' see you soon bro'' , oh God what did I do . I dropped my gym bag and went to shower, I joined everyone for dinner and later came back to to rest. As soon as I hit the bed , I was out.
