“Did you guys know that Clarice used to take Seth and me to Spanish restaurants all the time?” Serena asked.
We all shook our heads because Clarice hated Spanish food. The spices were too much for her and for some reason she hated the taste of beans. Rice and beans are Seth’s favorite food.
“She wanted us to be able to speak Spanish whenever we wanted. She used to say that even though we lived in an English-speaking household, our native language should never be lost,” Seth continued.
