My eyes fluttered open to the simple sounds of the ocean. Ocean? We live in Minnesota, there are no oceans for miles. What the heck is happening?
I got out of bed and saw that it was almost noon. Noon! I overslept! My alarm didn’t go off and now all the kids are probably downstairs starving, waiting for Saturday morning breakfast.
I sprinted out of bed and ran to my bedroom door. However, when I started pulling on the doorknob, it wouldn’t open.
“Hello!” I shouted. “Seth if this is one of your pranks, it’s seriously not funny!”
“Welcome to your day off, Lucy Hastings!” a male voice shouted.
Male? Not a boy.
“Wes? What are you doing in my house? Why is my door locked from the outside? What the h*ll is happening right now?” I frantically asked.
“Sorry Lucy,” Oliver said from the other side of the door.
I started pounding on the door, thinking that would magically unlock it.
