Mercenary and Marine

The siren repeated howling loudly on the sea. The source of this annoying sound came from the Marine warships.

Marine warships were set on fire in the middle of the sea.

At that messing place, it was filled with the screams of navies and the sound of gunshots.

And the culprits of this mess were a group of mercenaries fighting a group of Marines. The battle exploded in many places.

On the deck of ships.

"Eat some knuckles sandwich, you piece of shit." Red Soldier repeatedly punched the navy even though he was dead long ago.

While immersing in punching, a navy slowly approached from behind Red Soldier with a sword in his hands.

Although his hands were trembling, his eyes showed determination. This determination came from the will to survive. The navy had seen his friends who got killed by a bunch of mercenaries so he knew that if he surrendered, they wouldn't take his surrender seriously and kill him directly.

He had no choice except to pick up a weapon and fight for his life.

Seeing his target absorbing in punching the corpse, he exhaled a deep breath to calm his mind.

And then.

*Stab*

The sword stuck right into Red Soldier's throat and the red liquid gushed out violently.

"I did it." The navy cheered in celebration.

However.

The Red Soldier turned back and hammered his fist into the navy's beautiful face.

It printed a punch mark on his face.

"If you want a knuckles sandwich, you can ask me. It's free anyway." Red Soldier smiled while the sword was hanging in the middle of his throat.

The navy who received a punch was having a mild concussion. His vision was distorted making him see Red Soldier like a satan.

"Demon. Stay away from me." The navy screamed out in terror.

"Demon. This word. I hear many times."

Red Soldier grabbed Navy's head with his big palms.

"Says ah."

"AHHH" The navy was screaming in pain while Red Soldier was pressing two sides of his head.

Red Soldier struggled a little bit before completely breaking Navy's head like a watermelon.

"You little kid lacks of experience and inner demon" Red Soldier retrieved the sword from his neck. It looked cool but his blood gushed out from his body like a fountain as a result of his silly action.

However, the Red Soldier didn't give any f*cking care about that.

He dived into the front line with a heavy wound on his throat.

"Eat my shovel, Maggot" Red Soldier expressed a big smile.

However, to the navy, Red Soldier was like a demon stepping out from hell. He is lunatic, crazy, and fearful.

"Who are you." A navy stuttered with his hands shaking.

"My name is Soldier. And I come to claim your life." Red Soldier took a grenade from his waist and hurled it towards the questioned navy.

"My KDA is 999 999 999/ 150 321 666. You should be proud to be killed by me."

The grenade exploded upon the impact. His remains are scattered around his spot.

Red Soldier took out a note and scribbled a straight line.

"And that is my 1,000,000,000th kill."

*Bang*

Red Soldier's head exploded.

"I didn't sign up for this," Gion said while reloading her gun fast.

Feeling the disturbance in the air, she quickly rolled forward.

Immediately, a bullet landed where she stood.

Gritting her teeth, she shot back the Red Sniper who stood in the control room.

"@!#!#@" Red Sniper cursed loudly.

Never before has he missed so much like this situation.

Gion and Red Sniper had played the game of cat-mouse for a while.

She knew the guy who looked like an uncle was very weak at close combat. Each time she closed the distance between them, Red Sniper would throw a jar of urine towards her.

Never before had she seen a jar of urine used as a weapon.

When she arrived, he had already disappeared.

And when she went down to help her subordinates, he appeared again and hindered her.

This repeated many times making her annoyed.

"If you are a man then come down here and fight like a man," Gion shouted at Red Sniper.

"If you are a woman then come up here and fight like a woman" Red Sniper replied.

"Tsk." She gnashed her teeth and shot at the incoming Blue Soldier.

Blood seeped through his clothes turning from blue to red.

"Farewell. The cruel life." Blue Soldier said the last words before collapsing to the ground with face-planting.

"Why there are so many of them." Gion drew out her sword and dashed between the chaotic crowd.

Every enemy standing on her path was cut down leaving no one alive.

"I have already killed 4,000 of them but why their number doesn't seem to be decreased," Gion asked herself.

In opposite, their number seemed to increase. No matter how she thought, there was no way 4000 people sneaking into her ships without a slight notice.

She didn't know who they were but they chose to become Marine's enemy then death was Marine's answer.

However.

Those people didn't seem to be fear of death. Instead, they itched for a blood and fight.

This trait was what most of the Marine recruits lacked.

Marine's recruit strength was higher than a group of mercenaries but it was the Marines who was at the disadvantage.

From Gion's experience, she knew those mercenaries had more experience in battle than Marine's recruit.

Although Marine recruits were trained strictly before going out for a real battle, Years of training didn't erase the fear of death carving deeply inside them.

She looked left and right and found her subordinates just standing there and doing nothing besides cowering in fear.

They were frozen by the fear of death.

"Don't back down. We are almost winning" Gion shouted out giving hope in the mire of despair.

Somehow. In a miracle way. It sparked the hope inside them.

Her words reached every Marine who was cowering and shaking in the corner and erased their fear.

"That's right. We can overcome this. This is what I sign up for" A navy shouted out.

One by one. Their hands stopped trembling. They weren't restrained by the fear of death anymore.

They picked up weapons and confronted the group of mercenaries. Also, Mercenaries welcomed them warmly with guns, bullets, swords, and arrows.

The battle on the sea became more and more chaotic.

Gion tried her best to cut down many of them to reduce the burden on her subordinates.

"Lieutenant Gion. I don't want to say this but …" A navy had a badge of captain approaching her with a snail on his hands.

That navy whispered something into Gion's ear. In the middle of fighting, the roar of screaming and the collision of metal suppressed the sound. However, that didn't prevent her from hearing the message.

"What. How can that happen? Never before that, I will believe Momonga is dead like that."

"That is not a fake news. I see a bunch of lunatics charge at him and attack him with various kinds of weapons. But the most notable one is the one who stabbed Momonga from behind at the beginning of the attack. He can turn into anyone."

"Anyone." Her brow pulled downwards.

"Yes. Anyone. Please don't let anyone near you or else …"

*Stab*

Gion was frozen for a short moment. Her blood started running out from her mouth.

"Sorry girl. I don't want to do this but you leave me no choice." After the back-stab, the navy with the captain badge on the clothes slowly turned into a Red Spy.

Red Spy skillfully played with his butterfly knife gesturing her to a knife fight.

"Come on. I give time for you. And you should appreciate that." Red Spy taunted.

Gion endured the wound on her back and poured her strength into her legs and her sword.

In a flash, Red Spy was sliced into half. After confirming the Red Spy was dead, she leaned against the metal pillar which blocked the sight between her and the rest of the Marine.

Covering her mouth, she coughed violently. Gion didn't want her subordinates to witness this side of her.

Looking at the corpse of Red Spy, Gion kicked the corpse to the sea and dived into the front line together with her subordinates.

She could hide it with her behaviour but she couldn't hide her pale face.

After Gion left, a blurred image appeared where she had just left.

It revealed an impostor that Gion thought she had killed with her blade.

"People in this world are stronger than I expected." Red Spy took out a cigar from his pocket and ignited it.

He remembered when Gion's blade was 1 millimeter from his neck. He activated his clock making him avoid death once again.

"Usually. One back-stab is more than enough." Red Spy took a deep breath to refresh his mind while waiting for his clock to cool down.

"I need a better weapon." he flipped back and forward his butterfly knife and put the disguise on his face.

He slowly turned into the navy and joined the battle.
