Focus, Intent, Force....

It had been a month since they reached the camp. Max had kept himself busy by training with Percy Nico and Bianca. Thalia and Annabeth also joined their practice sessions. The gods were still bickering amongst themselves. Zeus had given a deadline of three months to for the Master Bolt to be returned to him, or he would wage war with Poseidon as in the canon.

Dionysus had gathered all the camp's cabin leader and informed them of what is to transpire. Everybody in the camp knew Percy was not the Thief, but they also could not prove anybody else is the thief.

Max had noted that Luke had been acting all normal and started talking to Annabeth, Thalia and even Max too. He apologised and said he had things to do and so much on his mind, that he wanted some time alone. Annabeth readily forgave him and started spending time with him.

[This guy....He is a DAMN good actor. He reminds me of Loki. Well he is the son of the God of Thieves and Trickery. And BOTH of them have daddy issues] Max thought to himself getting up from his log on the edge of the lake.

"Now Percy, from today we will be practicing the hard part." Max standing above the exhausted bodies of Percy, Nico and Bianca, their tongues out panting for breath. They took a break from sparring and training, while Max gave a lecture on how to use their powers through anime logic.

Although he first dismissed the idea, it helped Percy and Thalia to focus and visualize on what and they wanted to do. Unfortunately Bianca didn't have any ingerited powers except for slight sensing of people's emotions and moods.

"You have easily controlled your powers to do huge attack like Percy's mini Tidal wave or using water to push and hit targets and Thalia's imbuing her weapons with lightning. But these have a drawback. You are wasting too much energy and stamina, that is- you tire easily. So what I suggest is you start from the basics. Start small...very small and then make your way up. Your current goal is to have perfect control over your elements so that it will fell like second nature. Now watch." Max said and took out his staff and tapped on the ground stretching out his hand and concentrating.

Two tiny bonsai trees and a bunch of knotty roots sprang out and intertwined itself slowly and steadily around the trees, connecting to form a bridge. It was a near exact miniature replica of the Golden Gate Bridge in California.

Max practiced for 3 weeks, day in and day out to to make this structure just to show off and to also make them see that he was not just all talk and could also do what he taught them to do.

"Before we start, there are steps to follow that makes it easier to use your powers. There are three steps, namely- focus, intent and force. Lets start with Focus. The idea of Focus is that to us get a feel for your powers. Many think that clearing your mind and concentrating your thoughts on one specific thing is Focus. But it is not so. Focus is the act of organizing your thoughts, memories and feeling in such a way it start-up your power. Just like how stamina ang the energy you have is the fuel, Focus is the starter to the figurative flame. Now, you have already done this either knowingly or unknowingly, you both have connected to your powers."

"Next is intent, here comes the tricky part. There are three types of intent. One- the use of emotion, Thalia uses this form of intent. Using your emotion to channel your power is a great way to go about using it. But there is a drawback, the versatility is low and impedes your creativity and fluidity of your usage of your powers, which makes it difficult to use while in battle and also tires you fast."

Max looked at Thalia's long face and chuckled, "You don't have to worry yourself because the use of emotion as Intent although is either only offensive or deffensive at each time you use it, it allows you to use your power in the most destrutive way, creating maximum output."

"Two- set rules and regulations. This type of intent is the forming of set rules and regulations to allow one to use his power. It is usually used by people that don't have control over their power, or do not understand their own powers potential. But there are some people who fear their power going out of control. So acts as a sort of seal or valve that allows the person to use their power if certain conditions are met. I would not recommend this method as it is very restrictive. Most importantly you won't be able to use it in emergencies if it doesn't fulfill certain parameters." {A.N.- something like NEN, from hunter×hunter}

"Three- direct intent or intent of will. This type is the most difficult to achieve as it uses willpower, but also gives you the most freedom to use your powers, making the powers seem like an extension of yourself. From what we have seen, Percy is a natural at this. It has the highest versatility and is limited only by your imagination. Although it demands more focus, it is a one of the greatest weapons in your arsenal. You will tire fast but with enough practice it will be second nature and find it easier to use it easily."

"The final step is force. Force is your conscious or subconscious valve to direct, control and regulate how much energy and stamina you use while using your powers. It is the manipulation of the outcome of your powers manifesting to reality."
