"He's close," Matthew stated, his voice filled with conviction. "I can sense it."
Sophia nodded in agreement, her brow furrowed with concern. Her heart had been heavy with worry ever since Ronan disappeared into the woods. And to add to her anxiety, he never came back home at night. She couldn't shake off the fear that something might have happened to him.
"Where could he have gone?" Sophia muttered under her breath, her voice shaky. She glanced at Matthew, hoping his twin telepathy could help where her instincts had failed.
Matthew's face remained stoic, but she could see the tension in his eyes. "He's close," he repeated. "But there's something off… something dark in the air. It's like he's being cloaked by whatever has a hold on him."
Valentina swallowed hard, trying to ignore the growing dread in her chest. "Do you think he's still… himself?" The thought of Ronan being consumed by the darkness terrified them all.
