"I'm here to accompany you. I'm afraid you won't get used to it."
On the second floor, Nicki held the window and talked to Hunter with her phone on the other hand.
The stars shone brightly at night in the night sky, but she could only see Hunter's silhouette in the dim lights downstairs.
Neither of them spoke tacitly. The steady breathing made her slowly calm down. They looked at each other, and Nicki smiled.
After an hour, Hunter said gently, "Nicki, it's late. Go to sleep. I'll be here with you."
"Go back quickly! I'm fine. It's so cold and you haven't recovered that well yet. Don't get sick again," Nicki said solemnly.
"Don't worry, I'll go back once you fall asleep. Don't hang up the phone. Call me if you're afraid. I'll always be there." Hunter waved the phone.
Nicki nodded. She knew that if she won’t go to sleep, Hunter would never go home.
