prologue

Even if it had been a bad dream, I wouldn't want to believe it. Not even when I have not been in my right mind about what only mother nature and fate could do to me.

    "Olivia!" I said through clenched teeth "You dare not say that again".

    A dry chuckle escaped my lips as I fold my arms across my chest and bent my head to the left. My gaze remained fixed on the woman in front of me, at this point, I don't even know what to do or say to her.

   All I kept noticing is how she kept placing her palms on her slim waist and bouncing gently. Obviously, she looks like a nagging wife, especially when the husband has come back home drunk or without money.

    "I am your Alpha, Olivia" I decided to remind the woman in front of me just in case she forgot "We are meant to be together".

    Olivia scoffed and rolled her eyes. Her tongue stuck out for a few seconds before licking her lower lips.

    "We are mate doesn't mean I have no choice and I have decided, I don't want to be your mate" she snapped "I don't want you" she stated.

     Hurt to the marrow, I grind my teeth. My jaw moved as I clenched my fist with my arms still folded across his chest. He swallowed nervously before looking away from Olivia's eyes for the first time in forty-six minutes.

    This can't be happening, at least not to me.

    I am an Alpha and Alphas don't act weak! Alphas don't cry.

    Blinking rapidly, I cleared my throat and tried to smile.

     "We are bound to be together, Olivia," I said in my calmest voice "You might just be having a bad day and I will forgive you later" I added with a smile and shrugged.

     The calm grim on Olivia's face meant the absolute opposite of what I was saying. I can't read her mind but I know it, my wolf knows it and he keeps telling me to do the opposite of what I have been doing.

     He wants me to claim her by force. To let her know who is superior and let women be kept in their place.

     But love doesn't work that way. It's supposed to be mutual and I believe it's just a test.

      Blankly, I gaze at Olivia as she began to remove her clothes and put them in a leather bag she was holding. Every bit of her perfect body stunning and elegant stood bare in front of my eyes.

     'This is what I love seeing' Mox my wolf growled in approval.

      This is what we both love, not just him but I can tell he finds it hard to control. Mox already gave in, surfacing as my eyes changed colors.

     Still struggling to maintain my morals and not claim what belongs to me in the woods where Olivia has chosen to meet me, I had to look away for a brief second.

      'That's not nice' Mox groaned but I ignored it.

     Looking back, I meet Olivia's hot and fierce gaze locked with mine. The only thing she still has on is the scarf wrapped around her neck.

     "You see this?" Olivia moved close to me "This is the first and last time you would ever see me like this, so have it whole it last".

     'Is that it?' Mox growled 'She gat to be kidding.

    Not knowing if I should be moved by Olivia's body or get irritated by her nags, I moved closer and opened his arms wide.

    Women can be manipulated at times. It could be she wants something, or maybe just my hug.

     I can comfort her, I can tell her everything would be alright and I can make her mine forever.

    " In your dreams".

That came out as a muffled chuckle like she just only snorted and it came along with it.

   Olivia made sure my fingertips didn't even touch her. She stared blankly into my eyes as her skin began to grow extra hairs and her nails turned to claws.

    On the verge of half Shift, she struggled to get to her wolf form but there was no reply. Her wolf refused to pay attention to her command.

    Odd. That barely happens except...

   "Your wolf wants me," I grinned "We are Mates and we are meant to be for each other so...".

    "Don't stress yourself, Alpha Rex" Olivia interrupted.

    She stared at me in disgust as I drool over her clothless body. Deep inside, she wants to stay. Mox can feel it, he can tell, the connection.

    Waiting for anything cold to change but nothing happened. Even if it's just her gaze, at least let it just go blank. I can't stand my mate glaring at me, it's obvious she hates me but the problem is how can that the possible.

    I am not an omega, I am not disabled, and I am not even bad-looking.

    'Maybe it's just normal women's issues' Mox shrugged as I moved a few steps toward her.

     "We can't be together, Alpha" Olivia blurted out "I can't be your Luna" she added.

    Puzzled, I moved closer but she got back. My fingers burst into claws as my vegetarian teeth vanished for the carnivorous ones.

      Mox begs to come out, he wants to do something, to teach women how it's supposed to be done but I can't let that happen even when what I want to do is bang her hard on the floor till she confesses how she can't let me off her sight.

    If banging won't make her get back to her senses, forcefully claiming her seems like the best idea.

   "I command you to go to my chamber and wait for me there," I said instead "Do not make me force you" he warned.

    The smile on Olivia's face was extremely calm as she rolled out the scarf from her neck and threw it at me. A satisfied groan escaped her lips as she watch me struggle not to sniff the cloth.

     "You can't command your mate like that, 'Mate," Olivia said sarcastically "But even if, you still can't do that to me because I am rejecting you".

    I froze.

    Like something trapped in a black and white movie, only my breath was the working thing in me. I looked at my mate, tears filled my eyes but I blinks them back immediately.

     "I know you to be a great Alpha so I gave you the respect you feel you deserve. That is why I pulled you out from the pack before doing this".

   Olivia raised her left arm and crossed her index and middle fingers. A self-satisfying smile was plastered on her face as she lock gaze with me.

     "I reject you Alpha Rex" Olivia smirked "From this moment, you cease to be my Mate!".
