Chapter Fourty Three

"Are you alright, Marissa?"

I raised my head in disbelief. I couldn't believe he heard my call and has come to save me.

"Yes, thank you, your majesty," I replied quickly. He helped me get up and motioned for me to hide somewhere behind the rocks but I couldn't bring myself to do that.

Even though I couldn't be of much help there, I would rather be there than to hide.

It was supposed to be a peaceful auction. How did Asmodeus suddenly show up? And how did everything go so badly?

As much as I hate the demons, and Ilyas' family, they didn't deserve to die so cruelly. Especially not by another cold blooded demon.

It wasn't fair on them.

I looked around. It seemed like all I could hear were his boots crunching against the dirt road as he went down it. The only thing that moved were leaves rustling in the wind and the occasional bird flying above us. Nothing else.
