Chapter 24 : The Mountain Pass

We awoke late the next morning. I turned my head and looked over my shoulder. Wren was still asleep. He looked peaceful, almost younger. I’d never slept with a man before, it was odd.
I went to brush his long chestnut hair out of his face and stopped myself. I had no reason to hate Wren but as I lay in bed, I found myself searching for one. My sleepy thoughts were turning toward romance and love but it felt terrifying.
I didn’t want to replace one alpha with a new one. I didn’t want to jump from one relationship to the next. And I did not want to confuse sexual attraction for love. I needed to be smarter than I was before, I needed to learn my lesson or what was the point of all of this?
“Are you going to stare at me all morning?” Wren said sleepily without opening his eyes.
